I imported this book from the British Library: https://www.librarything.com/work/5769591/details/149507853

When it was imported it somehow brought in some editions by the author "folk tale". I got a crossing-author warning for Mr./Mrs. Tale when combining my book with an already existing work (see the lower middle of the "copies and editions" here: https://www.librarything.com/work/5769591/editions/149507853).

Even if there is an author named Folk Tale out there somewhere, he/she is not the author of my book or its work. But I cannot figure out how to break that association because my book details do not list "folk tale" at all, and the author page for "folk tale" comes up empty of books (https://www.librarything.com/author/talefolk).

Does anyone have any ideas?

>1 drbubbles: Sometimes bad data gets brought into LibraryThing from outside sources. Those two editions with the author listed as "folk tale" have the correct title and correct ISBN, so they should stay attached to that work. No one actually has copies of the book with that data (note that both editions say "no current copies" next to them) but leaving them there means that if someone else adds the book from whatever source has the bad data, their copy will be attached to the correct work.
