SUNSET
As the sunset goes
I walk with you holding hands
Darkness is not there

SUMMER
Swimming in the sun
Party from dusk til’ dawn
Now this is summer

dia de vida
chicos juegan, todavia
celebran muerto

day of life
children play, still
they celebrate death

a single rose
blooming in the sunlight
and in my eyes

Playoff Haiku

A winter giant
Squeezes a packer's femur,

counting syllables
in principle or practice
is too much work, so . . .

Beer and a ball game
On a summer afternoon -
Now come parking woes.

freezing without frost
No snow for Joe

Seasonal reference
conspicuously absent;
I can deal with that.

The ultra-short form
still needs structure to succeed;
Count five, seven, five.

How about:

Summer's straggling rays
cut through Autumn's first onslaught;
Nature loves balance.

Or:

Autumnal hues glow -
Winds rise, the whine increases;
Our servers run hot.

Still life awaits
the soft brush strokes
of artists’ eyes.

Feeling important
In his new blue suit, the boy
Carries wedding rings.

My brother got married this afternoon and my son was the ring bearer.

As a test wrote three in jest-- first post--

Grass has a spear tip
Often one inch and high enough
To calm itchy feet

Above feet is the head
Lay it down, lay it down, wait
It will rise tonight

Tonight in moonlight
The head is becalmed. marooned
Because the grass was there

with the winter wind,
arrives a driving rain;
I sit and sip green tea

A sky filled with clouds
The wind shifting to the north
Snowflakes kiss my lips

Dockside in darkness
Unstrapped loads and a force nine
Horizontal rain

Awesome!
