I am a bit disappointed that my Favoutite Group has become a bit moribund.

See what you think of this link?

That place in Kenya sounded fascinating. Loved the connection to Islam. I’ve always liked the cute story about the Prophet cutting his sleeve so as not to disturb his kitty!

Dear >4 anna_in_pdx: , I had always heard that story, as being about, the grey eminice, Cardinal Richealeau?

>1 guido47:, linked to from that page, I'm pretty fascinated by the idea of Japanese "cat islands": https://www.theatlantic.com/photo/2015/03/a-visit-to-aoshima-a-cat-island-in-jap...

Since we lost Rory, Amy has been lonely. At the moment, she's not impressed with the new addition, but she'll get over it (I hope!).

Meet Newt! AKA Newton Thou-Shalt-Not-Put-Thy-Feet-On-The-Dining-Table Pulsifer-Starchak. He's 9 weeks old and a real purr machine.

>7 tardis: So, that'd be "Table Pulsifer-Starchak" for short, right? ;)

What a darling little tuxedo fellow. Congrats on the new addition!

>8 lorannen: Aaah, I didn't even think of it! Too late, though - he's Newt forever :)

>7 tardis: Look at those whiskers! He looks like he's planning to do something he shouldn't.

That is one cute kitten! My cats are now both beautiful fully grown tuxedo cats, and I think I am never going to get a non-tuxedo cat again, I just love them. My younger one, who's about 5 now, still looks like a kitten as he has a super round face and big round eyes.

>9 tardis: Understandable! A cat's name is a cat's name, and once it sticks, it's stuck (in my house, anyway). My Momo's name was originally just "Mo," but evolved very quickly into its forever form.

>13 lorannen: My sister's stepdaughter has a cat named Momo! I think it's short for something or other.

>14 anna_in_pdx: I'd be interested to know what it's short for! I know of two other Momo-cats, as well. Turns out it means "peach" in Japanese and is also a type of Nepali dumpling.

We have a new tuxedo cat too. She's about the same age as Newt. Right now she thinks we're all trees that she can climb. My legs look like I've been hiking through brambles! But she's so cuuuttee!

>16 glade1: We've been having cooler weather so I've been wearing jeans, which saves my legs. Newt's a kneader, though, so I have several areas of pinpricks where I didn't get clothing between me and him fast enough :)
