I still haven't received An Army of One by Tony Schumacher from July of 2017.

I just won another from the same publisher, William Morrow, so I doubt I'll get that one either. Apparently they aren't very good at sending out books, based on what I've been reading

I haven't seen Stone Soup Annual 2018 from the April 2019 batch show up in my mailbox yet.

Haven't seen one of my June wins, God Just Wanted to Play Golf, which I was really looking forward to. Rats!

I see there are no reviews up yet, so perhaps none of them went out?

'God Just Wanted To Play Golf' - I haven't received it yet either :(

I am still waiting for Grilled Cheese and Goblins: Adventures of a Supernatural Food Inspector from last August and Memory's Exile from May 2017 (!) but I think they are lost forever, even if they are ebooks :-(

I haven't received Akela and Beverlee Beaz the Brown Burmese ebooks from the April 2019 batch. Hopefully it wasn't me inadvertently deleting them when clearing out my mailbox, but if so, is there a way I could ask the publishers for a resend?

I never received Falter by Bill McKibben from the January batch. Or Archeology from Space from the April batch... Or Inland from May...I won’t worry about June win yet.

I don’t know what to do about this issue. I did get the July win and the February one. So I know my information is correct!

It’s becoming difficult to maintain enthusiasm for the Early Reviewer program when it seems increasingly likely that the books will never arrive.

I've not received One Day on the Gold Line: A Memoir in Essays by Carla Rachel Sameth from the June 2019 batch. It was an ebook, but I've been checking my spam folder regularly and it's not gone in there. I've have got all the other books I've requested, and get LT emails, so I know my details are all correct.

Haven't received Laurie R. King's Island of the Mad from the June batch. Pretty bummed about it because the copy I won in a previous batch was also a no-show.

I finally posted my review of A Tangled Weave tonight. My copy seems to be the only one on LT, which is very strange. It was from the May batch (2019) of Early Reviewers, and yes, it did take ages to appear in my inbox (it's an e-book).

My mistake. I was out of the country from late July to early September and apparently "Alchemy" arrived just before I left. I just found it in a stack of things I set aside to deal with when I got back. I have a couple of reviews to get out before I can turn to Alchemy but will post a review as soon as I can.

I received a copy of "Cold Warrier" which was offered in May. I did not request it and do not wish to read it. If someone requested a copy and did not receive it please send me your name and mailing address and I will send it to you.

In June I won God Just Wanted to Play Golf but I never received it. I contacted the publisher, and they told me that the author is no longer with them and so they aren't able to share his book.

That's no problem, actually, except that I must remember not to flag the book as received. Is it possible to do something about it?

Tatoosh - same! I received Cold Warrior (which I did not request and do not want to read), but had requested Proud Boys and the White Ethnostate (which I have not received). It's fine if I don't receive the latter, but would like to pass the former along to someone else who does want to read and review the ARC. I'm happy to pay for shipping on this.

I also have not received my ebook copy of A Year in Her Life by Alice Benson from the June 2019 batch.

No takers so I'm going to donate "Cold Warriors" to the local library unless I receive a request before Friday, September 20.

From way back in April 2019, a book that doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet in Talk: Who Killed Buster Sparkle? My reviewer copy never arrived. I think no one on LT except for the publisher has a copy.

I havent received "The Last Dogs" from the January batch yet. Since it's an ebook version i was wondering, if anyone else received it yet.

I have not yet received An Unconventional Wife by Mary Hoban from the January batch although 4 LT Early Reviewers have reviewed it, with the first review appearing February 20th. My address is listed correctly; I checked it.

I actually received The Sleeper Lies, but I can't open the file. I emailed the publishers, but no response yet.

I am going on 0 for 2 with William Morrow selections: A Trace of Deceit never arrived, nor has On the Corner of Hope and Main from January, although it's not quite time to hit the "not received button."

(Edit) Make that 0 for 3 with William Morrow. The Gown never arrived, and it's been more than a year.

There are two that I am still waiting on: Indestructible from December of 2019 and The Network from April of 2019. Anything prior to that I am just purchasing on my own at this point.

I've experienced horrid luck with not receiving books that I've won from LibraryThing Early Reviewers... From the last few batches, I won but never received:

- The Best Kind of People by Zoe Whittall (Sep 2018)

I also never received The Sweeney Sisters by Lian Dolan (Oct 2019), but I recently won a copy via another giveaway so I ended up marking the book as received on LibraryThing and uploading a review.

I know it's not an issue on my end since I've been receiving all of my books from Goodreads and other sites. Plus, I noticed many of the titles listed above do not have any Early Reviewers-tagged reviews, so I assume the publishers never mailed out copies.

I'm really grateful for the wins, but it's also disappointing since I was looking forward to reading so many of these books. I haven't won a contest since October despite consistently submitting requests, so I wonder if I'm being penalized for the books I didn't receive/review despite marking them as "not received" in the system.

The Poop Diaries by Abby Ross, and Silent Manifest by Sean O'Brien.

Also still waiting for A Fine Mess by Kim Duke (February) and If She Had Stayed by Diane Byington (March). Technically, it's too early to mark these "not received", but since I am 0 for 5 on my latest "wins", I'm feeling a bit grumpy.

Corona virus has disrupted so much this year that it wouldn't surprise me if this year's batches had slower delivery. Of course, a good book to read while stuck at home is a great thing! Hang in there and maybe they will arrive soon.

Up to this point, I only had one unreceived book from 2014 and that was explained as a publishing issue.

Those issues could have been the fault of my email provider, but it's strange we both had trouble with the ebook. Sending the file to my Kindle didn't pose any unique challenges; however, it took longer than usual. I gave up on waiting and went to sleep. The book was on my device in this morning.

I saw that it noted it could take 4-8 weeks to receive print books. It makes me wonder since I’m waiting for 4 books which will probably be published before I receive them!

I still haven't received a copy of Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Mariah Ankenman from the February 2020 batch of review copies. I did notice that a few early reviewers have gotten theirs. I can't remember if it was a print or ebook copy, but I am assuming it was ebook as I'm in Australia and I can't see them sending a print copy to me.

I haven't received the last two books I won, Empire: A New History of the World from March 2020 and Proud Boys and the White Ethnostate from July 2019. Since both books only have one review posted, I assume I am not alone.

Edit: Of course the day after posting this, Empire: A New History of the World showed up in my mailbox.

Re William Marrow/HarperCollins,
they are one of the major publishers that participates in this program. I’ve had a couple of books missing from them but I also almost exclusively request and receive books from them so I’m not worried or complaining.

I haven't received Making Friends with Alice Dyson from the May 2020 batch, but this is probably because I just realized I never changed my name/address with Early Reviewers, although I had changed my name with LibraryThing. I honestly thought I had taken care of that before (fixed now). I'm not sure what to do about this at this point.

I am also still waiting for Vanishing Falls. There are 58 reviews and 78 ratings for it on GoodReads so it appears the publisher has given LeisureThing readers a rather low (or no) priority.

No signs of The Falling Woman by Richard Farrell. I do hope I still get that one. Patience....patience.

Sadly I've given up on Vanishing Falls. I emailed the publishers with a gentle inquiry and received no word. On the upside, I received The Lives of Edie Pritchard by Larry Watson from the June 2020 batch, which was a great read!

Nor have I. The "official" book release date is today, but GoodReads already lists 100 member ratings for the book. At a minimum our reviews will not be "early." More like bringing up the read.

A general note for everyone waiting on books: I've been doing a lot of work over the last few weeks tracking down titles that haven't been delivered. I heard last week from Algonquin that they'd be sending out the May titles that fell through the cracks, and today heard from both Henry Holt and Random House that they're working to send out past ER winners. COVID + USPS issues obviously have had an impact on ER, but I hope you'll trust that I'm working to get y'all your books.

I never received The Secret of Eveline House from April's batch, but I see that it has many revues. Hope I will still receive it.

Sadly, I did not receive When We Were Young and Brave from the June batch. I see there are 14 LTER reviews for that one, so it seems the postal service is at fault rather than the publisher. I had been so excited to win this one...

I just received Utopia Avenue a few days ago - 9/16

It's been a couple months since the last time we mentioned this one, so I'm calling it personally. :) Did anyone ever receive 500 Miles from You by Jenny Colgan? The book has been out for ages now and has hundreds of ratings on Amazon, so I'm assuming it's a moot point.

I have not yet received Vanishing Falls (from April) or Red Canvas (from June). There is one ER review of the former on line and two ER reviews of the latter. Previous to this there was only one instance back in 2017 that I failed to receive an ER copy. I'm wondering if there is still hope that Vanishing Falls and Red Canvas will show up.

I was browsing around hoping to find a thread about unreceived books and I stumbled upon this one. So I hope I'm in the right place.

I checked out my list of books won and was surprised to see that I had won and never received Sleepy Hollow by Keith DeCandido from way long ago, the August 2014 batch. I think I would have loved that book since I super enjoyed the television series.

Also didn't receive Making Friends with Alice Dyson by Poppy Nwosu from the May 2020 batch. This is certainly my fault because I moved in 2018 and didn't change my address (I've changed it now).

I never received my Sept 2020 awarded book (The Nature of Things: Essays of a Tapestry Weaver).

I know I'm "supposed" to wait until Nov. 28 to report but being as how there are 13 other ER reviews posted now, perhaps my book has either gone astray or was never mailed.

Please can you call the publisher? My address is the same as ever.

Is the Early Reviewer program broke?

Up through February, 2020, I received every Early Reviewer book LT awarded me with one exception in April 2017. I posted a review on LT of each ER book I received. Since that time I have been awarded 10 ER books and none have arrived. However, the last two books will not be overdue until January 31, so the number of late copies now stands at eight.

I emailed Kate in October and asked her to see if anything was amiss. She checked to be sure my contact information and postal address were correct, but I never heard further from her.

Finally, on Thursday afternoon I contacted two of the publishers, and both sent me review copies within two hours of the time I sent the message. Both included a note saying the books had been emailed earlier. They emailed the epubs to the email address I have on file with LT, so it seems unlikely my ISP is blocking the books.

I am wondering if the problem is more general, or mine alone. The two books I received were offered in the June and July, 2020 batches. The publishers offered 25 copies of each. Requests were received from 95 and 104 ER members, and I presume 25 were selected in each instance. To date, two reviews of the June offering have been published and three of the July offering. ER members usually publish a significantly greater number of reviews which makes me suspect that I am not the only one receiving the promised ER books.

I have asked the publishers to check on their end to see if they can identify anything that might account for my failure to receive the copies. I renew my request to LT to investigate the issue as well. In the meantime, if you were expecting review copies that did not arrive, you might be able to secure a review copy by contacting the publisher directly. I intend to do so with the other six copies that are now overdue.

I get many emails asking about ER and MG books, and I do my best to answer them quickly. Publishing houses and authors are also very busy and may take a long time to respond to me.

A lot has happened in the world and in the publishing industry (and with shipping and delivery services) since March of 2020, when you noted that your problems began.

As you noted, the publishers let you know that they had already sent you a copy of the book at the email address you have on file with LT. This indicates that the book is indeed being sent. Filters can be imperfect and it seems that yours is identifying some of these emails as spam. You can add the publisher email addresses to your list of approved contacts and that might help to solve the problem.

Something you might not have considered is directly contacting the publishing houses is creating more work for them. I’d ask that you don’t encourage ER participants to start contacting houses directly. It could lead to houses no longer wishing to work with us.

Kind of a related/unrelated question. The two books I did not receive (from post 188) from ER I decided to purchase for my Kindle and plan to read and review them. Once I do this, should I mark the book as received so my review will count for ER, or should I just leave them as unreceived since I didn't actually get them through the program?

We have not received our ER win for December, but I can see that at least one other member has (it's been added and reviewed). What do we do? I don't trust the system any longer. For example, we no longer receive the Newsletter despite having always had that box ticked.

You have investigated and the publisher says he's sent it, we haven't received it, and as email will not magically appear more than a month later and as the publisher doesn't respond to our contact attempts, we're giving up.

I haven't received The Note Through the Wire by Doug Gold from the January 2021 batch. The publisher is William Morrow. I've never had any issues before with receiving ARCs from them. This is the first time I haven't received a book I'm suppose to receive. Pretty sad since I really want to read this one.

Is anyone still getting their Early Reviewer books? I have not received 3 of the last 4 I’ve won. I won Air Fay this time around and I did receive an email telling me it’s actually an ebook. Fine ok, whatever, but there’s been no email link sent for it either. At this point I’m starting to wonder if it’s me....

I've been in the program for 3 years, and over that period, I have not received 4 of the books that I've won, plus my March win, which is not technically overdue yet. All of the physical books I've won I have received. The others were e-books. Many e-books I have gotten, though some methods of receiving a book were easier than others!

My best guess is that for some reason my ISPs have not been happy with however the books are delivered in the cases where I did not receive a book. I've checked, and other winners have received and reviewed, but I never heard a thing, even with checking my spam folder. I've just given up on those, marked them unreceived and moved on.

The March win that is not overdue yet does not have any reviews or anyone placing it in their library except the ER group, so that one I figure has just not gone out from the publisher, and I need to be patient. (The Birds of Bachelor Lane) Which is tough to do. :=)

When you look at that specific giveaway on your ER wins page, you will see the "Not Received Date" line, underneath the "Date Won" line. For "Take a Stand," it looks like your current not received date is 4/17/22, which means that this was the last time you marked it this way. Continuing to mark it will not change anything, in terms of the status of the giveaway, but it will change this date.

Although books that are not received do stay on your ER wins list, please be assured that the lack of a review for them will not count against you, when it comes to winning new giveaways.
