Before making these suggestions, have you looked into the feasibility? Is the necessary information available in a form that the volunteers can easily access and enter from? If you think any of these people are worth spending time on, maybe you should start looking into their libraries. Otherwise you will need to wait until someone with enough interest in that particular author does so.
