Hey kids! Vacations are over! Time to get back to our "serious" studies. :)

I've have read The Green Lantern Vol. 1: Intergalactic Lawman by Grant Morrison. Grant has the tough mission of shaking off 10+ years of Geoff Johns from the ole Lantern, but I don't know, mixed feelings. It is not exactly a book for kids and some old fans will not be happy with it. Liam Sharp's art really does not help (it is dirty and over-detailed).

On the lighter side of the ring, I am reading House of X/ Powers of X by Jonathan Hickman. Sorry Grant, but Hickman had "only" the burden of shaking off 30+ years of a rollercoaster of bad stories and intricated cronology and, IMHO, he succeeded. The art by R. B. Silva and Pepe Larraz is stunning.
Only to tease: Krakoa is back and in the center of the stage; the mutants are above good and evil; and Hickman created a new alphabet!!!!

Going back to reading Bride's Story which I stopped following and almost forgot how amazing the art is. I have the last tpb pf The Wicked + the Divine on hold at the library.

I need to catch up on the green lantern...

I have been buying for my kids Witch Hat Atelier. I have not read it, but the art is amazing. Sometimes, it looks like it is influenced by Charles Vess.

>2 apokoliptian: Honestly, I've nearly given up on the Green Lantern Corps. I like anything with John Stewart in it, Simon, or Jessica (and I loved, loved, love the stand alone that was title, ah.... Green Lantern: Legacy I think.... ah, there it is, by Minh Le

It just got too too big for me. They're doing all these multi-unvierses, space wall, end of everything and not just our everything, but everything everything. It got tiring. Oh, and all the different colors got confusing too.

I just picked up Torchwood: World Without End, didn't know that John Barrowman and his sister Carol Barrowman had written a Torchwood comic. (Seeing him on Doctor Who the other night made me wish to read/see more of him again)

>4 brianjungwi: I've had others recommend Bride's Story recently; I might have to check that out. You like it? I never know where to look for manga.

I've just picked up Once Upon a Time in France. And my comics book club is reading My Boyfriend Is a Bear in honor of Valentine's Day.

5> I will keep my eye out for that one

7> I like it. It's simple, I can enjoy the art and the story isn't overly ridiculous. It feels like a "slice of life" manga half the time, but I feel it's building into a grander narrative, so there's a slow burn to the story. It's a nice break from many of the comics and manga I've been reading which are more action oriented.

Hi, Danie. I think that Morrison's The Green Lantern is taylor-made for you. The main idea is going to the simple thing, focused on Hal Jordan.
