Period romance with paranormal twist

Young inept girl is sent by aunts to stay with (someone) while they are away. They give her a spell to work, that will make her appear at a certain place. Instead she mess it up and ends up (I think) in the middle of the road and almost hit by a coach. Two men save her. One takes her in. Does not believe in magic. Especially as she never seems to get the spells to work. He calls for her and in the end believes in magic. I remember the last pages are of him being magically lifted in a chair by New daughter.

Bewitching. She sort of falls on top of him while his carriage is by the side of the road. It ends as you described, with his daughter levitating him in his chair.
