Hi I'm new to this group, I came looking for it cause I love love love paranormal romance, some call it gothic. I wish someone had an extensive lit of the paranormal books or their authors because they are so hard to get when you go to the book store, because most stores still dont have a individual sub genre for them and at least in my case i think you miss out on some of the other authors you just dont know about.

Hi, Heaven ~ Welcome! There are quite a few of us lovers of paranormal romance on LT. Here's another group you might find helpful: http://www.librarything.com/groups/romancefromhistorica. In that group, there's a thread for paranormal romance (http://www.librarything.com/talktopic.php?topic=2151). It's a bit more lively than this one.

Happy Reading!

Hi! Welcome to the group :-) I've noticed when I go to Borders lately almost half their romance sections seems to be made up of all paranormal romances. They must sell very well there.

What paranormal/romance authors do you like to read?

As someone who works in a bookstore, I can tell you that the romances, and specifically paranormal romances are our best-sellers. We actually have a special section devoted to them. Personally, I think they sell well because they cross genres. They gain twice the audience that one genre would have netted.

I notice no one has mentioned L.A. Banks' Minion and its sequels. Has anyone else read her work?

I haven't read LA Banks but she keeps coming up on my Amazon recommendation list. Is Minion the first I should read?

Yes, Minion is the first in the series. In my opinion, it ends without concluding so you may want to get the first two books. The second is Awakening. The third is Hunted.

(edited to correct the order of the books in the series.)

I'm new too so thought I'd stop by here and say hi :) I'm female, Australian (Sydney) and a 20 something long time fantasy reader. Love a bit of paranormal romance!

Fave authors of the moment include Patricia Briggs (Mercy Thompson, stuff), Wen Spencer and Carrie Vaughan. I'm just reading my way through the Riley Jenson series by Keri Arthur but it's getting a bit too erotic for my tastes -- I prefer my smut to be a bit more essential to the plot! So liked the early ones more than the later :)
