Hi, all! This is my first post and it has been wracking my brain. Please help me find this book that I read years ago and lost in a move.
An English woman grows up following her father who is a respected commanding officer through countries, learning how to care for soldiers, finds herself back in England when her father passes away. She has a hurt leg and is well respected by all English soldiers that knew her. She is tall, is not very pretty, and has a hurt leg, but has a heart of gold. She falls in love with a rake who is a spy. After a rough not-quite-courting phase, she marries the rake and they find that they both have a love for Indian culture. The story ends with them living in a house that she owns and the rake gaining respect and truly loving the person she is.
