Each chapter has quotes

Each chapter of the book has quotes and one of them is along the lines of looking to the future and not the past.

It is a novel. At the start of each chapter there is a quote. I think the quote was around chapter 33, maybe.

What kind of book is it? Do you mean that it's a collection of quotations on different topics, or that it's fiction that has quotations at the beginning of the chapter, or--?

Many of Frank Herbert's books have quotes at the beginning of each chapter...
