Hi, I have not received any ebooks I have won. I have checked my Spam folder repeatedly.

My list of books won shows lots of books won but nothing. Am I missing something about where I should be looking, I.e. from the author, LibraryThing?

In any case, as mentioned above, we give publishers eight weeks/two months to deliver their books, before we will follow up with them. Please post again about May Day at the end of August, and about Beneath a Buried House at the end of July.

Regarding Blinding Lies, I have followed up with the publisher, and asked them to send you a replacement copy. Please check your spam folder over the next little while, if you do not see an email from them in your inbox.

In answer to your question, I cannot remove the book from your list, but if you list it as unreceived, once the system allows you to do so, it will not count against you, when it comes to winning future ER titles.

Make sure that your email address is spelled correctly, and not missing something like a period before the 'com' or the special characters (if you had one, like an exclamation point). If you changed your profile email recently, that might be a reason too, since nothing forwards from the previous email address.

I haven't received the two books I won from the October 2020 batch, The Wandering Palestinian by Anan Ameri, and To the River, We Are Migrants by Ayendy Bonifacio.

Regarding The Birds of Bachelor Lane, I have not heard back from the publisher, and am not sure there is anything else to be done at this point, other than mark it as unreceived. I'm very sorry for the disappointment.

Have not received Hostile Intent by Lynnette Eason from May 2021 batch. I mention this only because I received my June 2021 "win" from the same publisher today. On the list, it says I can't report it as not received until July 31st of 2021.

We changed the cut-off date for Members Giveaways yesterday, after consultation with a number of publishers, whose policy it is not to send out Early Reviewer copies, once the book in question has been published. We are not following up on titles won before January 2021.

I'm very sorry for the disappointment, kidzdoc. As I mentioned above, I've been brainstorming some ideas on improving the fulfillment end of ER, because I know this has been a consistent concern of members. I will keep you all posted.

I may have to stop requesting e-books. My ISP is continuing to crack down on anything with attachments from a commercial source. :=( The publishers who send a download link seem to be acceptable but attachments come late and go to spam. This is no reflection on LT or Black Rose Writing, the publisher. Thanks to both for persisting!!!

Following up on my earlier message, to post teadladytoo's suggestion, from another thread:

"Is there any way to ask publishers who send ARCs via attachments to send an advance e-mail without the attachments? That way they could be added to the safe-senders list and perhaps things would go more smoothly. Just a thought."

A good idea to consider. I will keep this in mind.

I have not received When We're Thirty from the May 2021 batch. AbigailAdams26 I'm mentioning it here because I can see on the book's entry here at LT that other people have received theirs. I have double-checked my spam and made sure the correct email address is listed here at LT.

I've given up on the books not received by now.

Hi everyone. I wanted to draw your attention to the fact that we will not be following up on titles won before March 2021. This is a change (the second such change, actually) to our cut-off date, and reflects the fact that many publishers have a cut-off date themselves, after which they will not send replacement copies. For some publishers, this is a set period of time, for others it relates specifically to the publication date.

I apologize for any disappointment this causes. Our cut-off date will continue to change, as we go forward in time. I will edit the initial post accordingly, and draw members' attention to it, down thread, each time this occurs.

Thanks for all you do to track down the lost sheep! My sheep was The Healing of Natalie Curtis from the June 2021 batch. I don't think it is an addressing issue; I received a July 2021 win from the same publisher promptly after the batch closed.

In terms of Blood Sugar, publishers have two months to deliver the books, which means that this one isn't overdue until the end of September.

These are both digital giveaways, correct?

That said, am I correct in thinking this is a digital giveaway? Have you checked you spam folder? I have received many reports that digital giveaways have gone astray, because the email from the publisher is from an address unknown to winners' email systems, and contains an attachment.

Hello. I have not received “My friend is extinct”. This is from the July batch I believe.

Sadly, I have still not received my digital copy of Finding the Vein that was from the June 2021 batch. Ooligan is a college press, so maybe they were waiting for a new semester to start?

Checked my spam and inbox faithfully, and I have received other works from them so I made sure they were in my address book.

I have not received my digital copy of The Step Back from the June 2021 giveaway.

I check my email inbox every day and I have turned off all my unwanted email protection filters (scan for viruses and spam).

Thank you so much Abigail for all the work that you do behind the scenes on this (and all the other work you do on LibraryThing).

That said, I am aware that this title was offered in both physical and digital formats. If you won a digital copy, it is possible the book has been sent, but that the email went to your spam folder, because the publisher's email address was unknown to your email system, and because it contained an attachment. Try checking there (the spam folder) to see if that is what happened.

If not, and you have not received it by the end of October, please let me know, and I will reach out to the publisher for you.

I have not received In a Nutshell by Cindy Dorminy and Read Me by Lauren Connelly. If I am not mistaken, these were supposed to be in e-book form. For a long time I didn't request e-books and started requesting a few this past year because there are not as many physical books to choose from. So far I have only received one of the e-books I have won. It doesn't look like anyone else has received them either according to the lack of reviews so I am assuming it is nothing that I have done incorrectly. Just in case though, should I be doing something different in order to receive these e-books? My email is up to date.

I received emails saying I had won each of these but the last three (ones with an asterisk) are not listed on "Books you've won" on Library Thing.

On a general note, I want to say that we're aware of the difficulties, when it comes to the delivery of digital giveaways. We get many reports of publisher emails bouncing, or being sent to spam folders, because their email addresses are not recognized by the receiver's email admin. We are working on solutions, and apologize for any disappointment this has caused.

10/29/2020 - Reaching Common Ground by Frederick Golder. Reached out in August 2021 and he did not remember doing a giveaway.
12/15/2020 - Love in the Time of Terror by Mary Faderan. Contacted author on LibraryThing and never received a response.
8/30/2021 - Preying on the Church by Kimberley B. Jones. Contacted author on 12/18/21 on LibraryThing and never received a response.
10/6/2021 - The Zen of Home Water by Jerry Hamza. Contacted author on 12/18/21 on LibraryThing and never received a response.
10/19/2021 - The Milkshake Diet by Paul Sourour. Have not contacted author yet to inquire.

I realize some of these are before August 2021 (I didn't know this thread existed until today). I figured I would just list them all since I know the first ones are probably going to count against me since I did not review them. If there is a way you can mark them as "not received", that would be helpful.

Missing the book Child of the Night: from 12/21 batch

Generally speaking, LibraryThing staff don't intervene in MG, as we consider it a member-run, member-driven part of the site. You would need to reach out to the members offering those books, in order to enquire about them, which it sounds like you have already done, in most cases.

Unfortunately, when it comes to The Milkshake Diet, it looks like this author is no longer interested in participating in a giveaway. I made an announcement about it here: https://www.librarything.com/topic/337153#n7769823.

The good news about all of this is that with our recent redesign of Early Reviewers (ER), and MG being discontinued and subsumed under ER, everyone, both those offering the giveaways and those winning them, will be subject to the same rules, and LibraryThing staff will be able to get more involved, in the case of books not received.

There is not a way, as it currently stands, to mark old MG wins as unreceived, on your Wins & Requests page, but non-reviewing of these titles will not be considered in our winners' algorithm, so there are no worries on that score.

I still have not recieved RuneCursed (God's Drum Book 1) by Julia P. Aspenn from the March batch. It is listed as an eBook, so I wasn't expecting this much delay. It says it was sent on 3-31-22, but I'm not sure what that means since I haven't received an email.

There's dozen of books I haven't received over the last few years. I do have a concern that some authors are not sending books in the condition that I have requested. I specifically request only physical books because my Kindle is broken. They send me ebooks instead and when I tell them I requested physical copies, they don't respond.

I have not received from February 2022, but I see 2 people have already reviewed it. My address is the same I've had for years, & I've only had 1 other 'not received', back in 2014.

Yes, checking the spam folder is always advisable. Unfortunately, many emails from authors and publishers end up there, either because their email addresses are unfamiliar to the winner's email admin, or because they contain attachments. I received 2 book links via email but the link has been "archived" and I am no longer able to access the ARC e-copies. I emailed the publisher I received the original email from and they stated that once the book is published, the ARC link is archived and can no longer be accessed. This is a different process than other ARCs I have received in the past...usually a downloadable file, but now it is a link. I was not aware of this change and that they would expire. I would like to be able to have 2 books changed to "not received" due to this new process and that I am now unable to access the following ARCs:

I have not received ‘Butch “The California Flash” Leal’ print copy from the September 2022 batch yet. Appears EarlyReviewers is the only member that has it in their library so CarTech may be running behind on shipping, previous wins from them were received in far less time.

I never received "The Birds of Bachelor Lane" and mistakenly clicked "received" I guess.

That book was from the October batch which closed less than a month ago so there is still time for you to get your copy. It's not going to be not sent to you because the wins page says you received it already.

Regarding download links, depending upon how they are sent to you, and where they are hosted, many of them do indeed have an expiration date, and unfortunately, many publishers will not send another, if the book's publication date has passed.

Even if you are not able to read the book right away, it is always a good idea to immediately take a look at the file or link sent to you, so that you can ensure you don't miss the opportunity later.

The wrong book was attached for Twelve from Hell, but when I tried to download the correct book later the offer had ended. Also never got Found Footage Mary Fan, from November. Really not having good luck with the ebooks.

I haven't yet received Rising From Down Under by Anat Naveh, offered by Niv Publishing in the October batch; it doesn't have a "sent" date either. I've marked it as "not received" on my wins page. In terms of marking a book as Not Received on your ER wins page, you should only need to do this once. You can continue to do it, but the only change will be an update of the date on which you marked it, the status shouldn't change. I've taken a look at your page, and it shows as Not Received, with a date of 1/7/23.

Just a heads up. I received a link for "Open Canon" from last months books, but could not get it to download. It was very complicated.

Which would be fine, except that most knitting pattern pdfs are 5 or 6 pages, not 200-300! The files are slow to load and cumbersome to manage. Not to mention, in the beginning, before I figured out what was going on, I'd download to Kindle and then wouldn't be able to find it.

I wish there were a way to route those downloads more effectively, but Kindle (despite its pretensions) isn't really a computer tablet. It's essentially an ereader with some added apps. Suggestions welcome, if they're doable by someone who is only semi-literate on the hardware!
