Long time LTer, first time poster here.

Last weekend had a nice weekend away with my middle son visiting Sisters, Oregon, and finished three books:

Tiki Pop - purchased in the last Taschen sale, fun review of the 50-60s emergence and fading away of American Tiki. Best read with The Retro Cocktail Hour playing in the background!

Siddartha - purchased used last month at Arundel Books, a re-read from my early twenties. It slaps very differently as the father of three boys - I hope they each find their own river!

Finally, Memoirs of a Kamikaze also picked up last month while visiting The Museum of Flight with my youngest son. Outside of one wayward footnote - blaming the Hull Note for the start of hostilities - a remarkable tale of survival and the human spirit.

About myself, 48 yo suburban Seattle dad of three teen-aged boys. Avid, life-long reader. Have collected Folio Society and Library of America books for about three decades, now branching out into more collectable limited editions. Just as comfortable reading an old paperback.

Welcome! Wow, haven't read Siddhartha since my twenties either. Probably should reread sometime to see how different it feels.

In case you haven't found them, here are links to places we keep important links. These are always on the group home page.
