August Reads?

How was your month? What were the hits & misses for August?

I racked up 11 titles in August, plus three DNFs. Standout this month was Kim Barnes' A Country Called Home, with Tess Gerritsen’s Gravity coming up second. Two very different types of fiction, both very well done.

Nothing really sank to the Hall of Shame level this month; two of the DNFs just didn’t hold my interest and the third was a group read for my F2F group that got forgotten when I went to the hospital. By the time I got out, the meeting had come and gone.

How was everyone else’s end-of-summer reading?

I read 18 books in August.
I had two 5-star reads: Wuthering Heights a re-read of many times, and The Lioness of Morocco.

The stinkers: The Country Where No One Ever Dies and The Day of the Locust.
