For our October challenge, let's choose a book with a living creature in the title - an animal, a bird, a fish, an insect.

Two books that fit this challenge, and that I have on my TBR shelf are Cat's Cradle and Cat's Eye.

I haven't been doing too well on following through on this challenge but I do have The Blind Owl on my shelf and will try to fit it into my October reading.

I'm going with New Grub Street.

I'm going to try The Goldfinch because I need to get it off my TBR shelf. I have very low expectations of this book, because it's about both 17th-century Dutch art and about the contemporary New York art world, two subjects that are not promising for me in fiction. And it looks extremely long. But I will give it my best shot! Other people do seem to like it.

I completed my read of The Blind Owl which was a book that totally confused me and had me questioning what was being written about every few paragraphs. Not a book that I enjoyed.

I read I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou. Average read, meh. Graphic and violent rape and sex depicted.
