Stopping author SPC combining with Springhouse

Why does SPC, the author of my R.A.F Topographic Navigation Chart, link to Springhouse?

Presumably it's likely to be something to do with Springhouse Publishing Corporation - but the work is actually linked via 'Springhouse - Author of Southern Living magazine slow cooker supper 2016'.
https://www.librarything.com/author/spc&norefer=2

Southern Living Magazine was published Birmingham, AL. : Southern Living Inc. The Slow Cooker Suppers edition is a "Special collectors Edition" which has SPC Specials written under the barcode on the cover.

Springhouse Corp was a large nursing publishing company (merged into Lippincott in 2000) so none of the nursing related items should be linked to the Southern Living Magazine.

Lots of other items that have no relation to Southern Living Magazine, or Springhouse, are included in the 'Springhouse - Author of Southern Living magazine slow cooker supper 2016' entries:
Secretariat of the Pacific Community books, eg The future of Pacific Island fisheries.
Software Publishing Corporation books, eg PFS: first choice.
Serbian books published by Srpske pravoslavne crkve (SPC), eg Pravoslavni Molitvenik
Harlequin Western Romance?

How do I get my navigation chart's author out of this lot?

No idea why it did that. I finally changed the work author.

There is a canonical name somewhere in there messing up everything. I need a bigger screen to be able to see it so will look at it in the morning.

I don't see that SPC is combined with Springhouse and yet it leads to that page, instead of its own

>2 MarthaJeanne: Not sure what you think you did but SPC is still combined with the rest of them all.

Yes, I see. the two books I changed now say SPC, but still lead to the Springhouse page.

Ah, separated the troublesome Springhouse out, and it suddenly says spc. https://www.librarything.com/author/spc

That page will need some division now.

Yep - that was it. Here is it : https://www.librarything.com/author/spc

It was hiding under the name Springhouse. I suspect that this needs to be split and part of it aliased back into the previous big name.

>7 MarthaJeanne: I think we were doing it at the same time - I recalculated the name a few times :)

I divided one big group out and aliased it.

>9 AnnieMod: >10 MarthaJeanne: Thanks very much for doing this.

With the information available in the listings, or via WorldCat, I've subdivided the SPC authors a bit more to give:

1= Community Pacific the of secretariat SPC
2= Southern Living magazine
3= Springhouse
4= SPC - author of my R.A.F Topographic Navigation Chart
5= Software Publishing Corporation
6= Srpske pravoslavne crkve (SPC) - Serbian Orthodox church

I see you've aliased 1 with other Community Pacific the of secretariat SPC. Some of the others could also be usefully aliased (I'm not sure how you do this...):

2= https://www.librarything.com/author/magazinesouthernlivi
3= https://www.librarything.com/author/springhouse
5= https://www.librarything.com/author/corporationsoftwarep

>11 newcrossbooks: You copy the author name in the URL you want to alias to, and go to the division page you want to alias from. In a bar you choose 'alias divisions...'

Then you paste the author code into the box as I did for the first one.

so for 2, you want magazinesouthernlivi

>12 MarthaJeanne: Thanks very much - It was a bit of a struggle to find the page with the 'alias divisions...' bar, I hadn't realised it was back on the page where the divisions are set up, but once I got there it was easy.

Everything seems to work now - the old Springhouse now just includes spc (3) and my SPC has an author page to themselves.
