Read around 2009 at school. I do not remember anything about anything physical about the book, including the cover, size, color, length, paper or hard back.
Plot I remember:
A young boy meets his mysterious Uncle. The Uncle doesn't seem to have been a big part of the boys life until now. I do not recall any siblings or even parents although that could be incorrect. The Uncle and the boy somehow arrive at a time/space traveling ship of some kind. They travel to many worlds, none of which i can remember, just that they do travel many worlds. Either from the beginning on earth or acquired throughout the adventures, the boy has a sort of side kick. ( There is no certainty to what it might've been. Could range from a dog to a small alien companion)
The only outstanding and most memorable part of the book i remember with certainty is that close to the end of the book, this duo encounters a world where time still. The events here i cannot recall other than them cleverly figuring out a way to leave or leave by some help of an entity who is native to this realm and isn't affected by the time standing still.
At the end, i believe they do return gone.
On a final note, the book is not Bobby Pendragon by D.J. MacHale.
