Combining Pride and Prejudice

I don't see any reason why these two should not be combined:

There are no disambiguation notices. It appears that someone has just separated out a Penguin Classics edition from the main work as that is the only edition listed in the second case. In fact, the first work even has at least one book with the same ISBN as the second work - and there are several Penguin Classics also included in the first work.

I was just adding an edition that I purchased recently to my library and came across this.

Wanted to make sure no one had any objections.

That will have to go to https://www.librarything.com/topic/313648 unless you have the key to big combinations. Or someone from there sees this.

But yes, they need to be combined.

It's not even sure that 'someone' separated them. If a single copy didn't autocombine, it's quite possible that other copies of that edition combined into it and quickly grew big.

>4 MarthaJeanne: 3,738 copies? Not impossible (it is a popular edition) but that feels like someone separating because of the Publisher Series and not understanding how the site works... possibly trying to get the correct cover to show or something.

What kind of monster work is this?

Generic edition? They're definitely not all "Bantam Classics" though.

That looks nasty. Various films and TV series, some critcal edtions, some adapted works, some omnibus works. My only surprise is that there isn't a Pride & Prejudce tea-towel on the list of editions.

There is only one edition there.

Pride and Prejudice (Bantam Classics)/Austen, Jane/ISBN 0553213105 (7332 copies separate)

All the other stuff is "Potential work combinations".

All this needs is to be combined into the main work by someone with super powers.

(Judging by the covers, lots of people have entered this, but have different editions.)

>10 MarthaJeanne: Right you are, pardon my blindness. But why is it separate from the standard work?

>11 anglemark: Because someone who has no idea how LT works are supposed to work and pulled it out and could not get it back in (or did not know they should)? It happens often with the classics - I occasionally find a specific publisher’s edition pulled out and on its own.

>12 AnnieMod: I just realize only Staff can recombine them; too many books involved.

It's nice to know people with power.
