correct books with incorrect authors

hello,

I need to know how I can get the author corrected on a work that I, either have not entered into my library- or, have entered- but somebody's incorrect author- seems to take precedence.

for example- Jenny Phillips is carter of a curriculum titled: the good & the beautiful. She has published/ reprinted hundreds of books not longer under copyright. these books all have their original authors on the cover. but people associate the book with Jenny Phillips and then enter her in as the author. someone even had her as the author of Girl of the Limberlost- by Gene Stratton Porter. (resisting sarcastic remarks)

anyhow, when I merge these books with their correct authors- the correct authors- are losing. How can I get the correct author to appear? and Jenny Phillips to disappear? she could reasonably be labeled publisher. she is author of some of her own works- but that is not the problem that I hope to address.

The bad information is being entered through Bowker Books in Print
