I'll start this a little earlier this time, while I remember! Please nominate up to two books you'd like to have as our group reads for April and May 2022. You can second as many nominated books as you like. I will close nominations in around a week.

I nominate Timothy Findley, The Wars, and Juan Carlos Onetti, The Shipyard.

I have a couple out the library that I'd like to nominate.
The sea, the Sea and The Black Prince both by Iris Murdoch. Not read anything by her before, so I'm going all in.
I'm trying to read books published in each of the 50 years I've been alive, so I'm mining the more recent end of the list for ideas. These two help fill in the 1970s.

An unhelpful three way tie in the poll so I'll declare all three winners and the next three group reads will be The Wars by Timothy Findley (April), The Sea, the Sea by Iris Murdoch (May) and The Shipyard by Juan Carlos Onetti (June).
I'll set up threads for each of these at the start of the respective months.

>7 puckers: that seems eminently sensible.

Any chance of switching the order of the May & June reads? I will be traveling in June but I do want to read The Shipyard.

I'll actually get one of these read for once as I just read The Sea, The Sea for another 1001 group I am in. Winner!
