Using inventory bar codes for books with multiple copies

I'm hoping someone can help. I can add individual books to my library and include the inventory bar code. I see that there is a field that asks how many copies of a book. Is there a way to enter the bar codes for the multiple copies of a single book, or do I have to enter each copy as a separate entry? I'd like people to be able to search and find only 1 entry that shows the multiple copies available, and their status. Any thoughts, tips, or advice?

Thank you!

Barcodes are one book one code, as far as I know. So if you had three copies of a book, all of them would get the same bar code if you marked it as three copies.

Yes, you'll have to add each book as a separate entry to allow people to check them out separately. There might be more information in the TinyCat group: https://www.librarything.com/ngroups/18541/TinyCat

LibraryThing and TinyCat unfortunately do not yet have copies management (the "Copies" field on LT existed long before any lending capabilities or TinyCat were developed), so >3 norabelle414: is correct: you would need to catalog each copy of your book/s separately if you wanted to track lending for them. Sorry for any inconvenience!
