GUYS I cannot find this book or books series!!! I remember it’s about these young adults or teens who have to fight there way through like abandoned cities to get to a finish line?? And like there’s booby traps and people trying to kill eachother, I think they are separated in groups at first. The main character who is a girl wakes up in a metal box (so does everyone else) in different parts of the city and they have to make it to the finish line alive and it takes like weeks. They all got to choose a couple items to take with them. I think it was like an initiation. I remember she saved the guy she befriended and helped save him to the finish line and found bikes they made usable to get through the city faster. One scene, there is a fake island that looks like water and it blows up and that’s how the guy gets hurt. I think it’s set kinda in the future, cuz before the test they have like hoverboards they used to get around. I think this is like the last of a series of tests they have to complete too.

I remember they group up for other tasks too, I think going through the city is the final one. And they always have the city officials watching them. I know for sure the main character is a girl.

>1 abigailboswell: Perhaps The Initiation? The main character is a boy, but he works together with a girl throughout the test.

>2 RosetheReader: ahh that’s a good guess but I looked at the description and that’s not it. It’s definitely a dystopian setting tho like that one!!

Possibly Endgame? Can you remember when you read it and/or when it was published?

>6 konallis: not Endgame, but great book! I remember I read it a few years ago…maybe 2017?? I’m pretty sure it was post 2010…but that’s as close as I can guess :(
