Many Devotees will probably have seen that Peter Straub has passed away. I vividly remember going through 'that phase' as a teenager where I seemed compelled to scare myself to death. Straub's Ghost Story came closest to success and is one of those books that I would love to revisit (along with Salem's Lot and The Exorcist) but know that now I never will - less than three pages into Folio's superb edition of The Exorcist was enough to convince me that chronic insomnia would follow if I continued. Ghost Story would be a good fit for Folio's current editorial direction.

I remember enjoying The Talisman, one of the Straub / King collaborations when it came out in the 80s and also Koko, a compelling book about Vietnam. And Ghost Story, of course. I don't think I got round to any of the others.
