>1 GusLogan: This is even odder than a number 1 copy. That impressed stamp is what was used to mark presentation copies. And they were not normally numbered, they were marked with initials of the person who received the copy, normally someone involved in creating the book. I guess if the author or illustrator wanted a number 1 copy, they might have let them have it as their presentation copy, but that would go against having the lettered presentation copies. Very odd.
