Reporting this as Tim encourages users in the "Beta feature (Private Book)" thread to find problems with the private books feature.
The Charts & Graphs pages don't seem to take account in any consistent manner of books being set of private. For testing I set my account as public, set some books as private, and then examined some of the Charts & Graphs pages while logged into my account and while logged out in a private browsing session, on the assumption that the latter reveals what is visible to anyone. I didn't check all the displays, but here are some problems I found:
1) My "Controversial Books" list (https://www.librarything.com/stats/Edward/controversialbooks) displays private books, with or without login. For example, the most controversial book in my library is apparently Kill All Normies: Online Culture Wars From 4Chan And Tumblr To Trump And The Alt-Right, and after I set it as private it continues to appear at the top of the list even without login.
2) The "Top Series by Pages" graph (in https://www.librarything.com/stats/Edward/bypages) displays series even if all books held in them are private. Again, this is the same with or without login. An example is the series A History of Western Philosophy (Russell), which I hold as a single private book A History of Western Philosophy.
3) The Author Nationality (https://www.librarything.com/stats/Edward/nationality), Dead or Alive? (https://www.librarything.com/stats/Edward/deadoralive), and Gender (https://www.librarything.com/stats/Edward/gender) lists include authors whose only books I hold are private when I am logged out, but bizarrely not when I am logged in. I assume this is the opposite of the intended behaviour. For example, the only book I hold by Edwin A. Abbott is Flatland, which is set as private, and Abbott appears at the top of my Male gender list when I am logged out, but he is absent from the list when I am logged in.

This should be fixed. When viewed by anyone but the member, private books should not be part of the stats.
