RMUC emptying itself

I spend quite a lot of time with Recent Member-Uploaded Covers on the Home page. In the last...maybe as much as a week, I've run into a serious problem with it.

I dealt with a bunch of covers...and (maybe) finished all the covers in the set (it was set for two rows, highest quality, my editions only, Show Even More). It shows an empty box with None and a refresh button. I've "finished" before, and what I do is drop the quality and get a new lot. So I did that (dropped to 1500 pixels), and it populated...until I dealt with one book, then it went back to no covers. Clicked Refresh, they came back (minus the one I'd dealt with)...then disappeared again. I can dismiss two or three covers before they poof, but I can't get them to stay and let me deal with more than a few that I know I can dismiss (if I click through to a cover popup, when I go back they're all gone). Clicking Refresh in the module fills it in, but only momentarily; refreshing the page (usually) gives me the blank box with None in it. Oh, and it doesn't disappear until I do something - I can stare at the module for quite a while, but as soon as I start clicking I've got a few seconds at most before they poof. Help? I also tried setting the quality back to 2000px, but no difference.

Windows 10, Firefox up to date. Oh, test - yes, exactly the same effect in Chrome, up to date. So not cookies...I logged in fresh in Chrome, I seldom use LT there.

Thanks for this. I'm adding steps to reproduce to follow easily:

1. log in as jjmcgaffey and go to https://www.librarything.com/home#aboutyou
2. find the Recent Member-Uploaded Covers for Your Books module and click the Settings button: make sure settings are set to 2 rows, High quality or better (1500px), For Your Editions/ISBNs Only, Show Even More checked (respectively). Click the Save button to save settings (if needed).

Bug: I'm seeing "None" in the box, but when I click the "Refresh" button the module fills up with covers again. (NB: this behavior doesn't happen if I change to different settings such as 1000px and All Editions, etc.)

3. click the "x" on any cover, then "OK" to dismiss it.

Same bug: Within a couple of seconds, the box of covers empties and "None" shows up in the box. Clicking the refresh button refills it.

I'm not noticing any errors in the dev console when this happens. Reproduced on Mac/Chrome on jjmcgaffey's account, but couldn't reproduce with the same (or different settings) in my own account.

Some experiments - it clears at 1500 or 2000 px, if For Your Editions is checked. Show Even More doesn't seem to make a difference (check or unchecked). At 1000px, with (or without) For Your Editions checked, it works fine, no bug.

I also note that after it's emptied itself the first time, there's a sort of grey tab hanging off the left side of the module and it's shifted within its box. Once the tab appears it sticks around until I refresh the whole page. This is in Firefox, latest - also in Chrome, latest, on Windows 10.

Note the difference between RMUC and the Recently Added module below.

Thanks, Krista, I hadn't thought to check variations.
