"Add books" inserting pluses into tags

This morning I added a book to my library and for the first time in a while I used the functionality to add tags on the "Add Books" page. The first site I searched didn't have the book so I chose Overcat from the "search elsewhere" options on the right (this may or may not be relevant). When the book was added, all but the first tag had a "+" prepended to it on the book page, and tags with a space had a "+" replacing the space. I haven't been very active lately and only did a cursory search to see if this was a known bug, so my apologies in advance if this is a well-known issue.
