Anne Chotzinoff Grossman died on May 20, 2008. O'Brian fans will recognize her name from her book written with her daughter, Lisa Grossman Thomas, ''Lobscouse and Spotted Dog.''

Sorry to hear it! That was a fun book, and the process the two of them went through to research and write the book was interesting as well.

Well, according to the NYT at http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9C01EED81431F93AA35752C1A9649C8B6... she actually died in November 2002.

I don't know where the confusion arose.

The New York Times obituary was my source in posting the message above, and is dated May 26, 2008. It says she died the previous Tuesday, which would be May 20, 2008. I don't know that there is any confusion.
