Hello fellow LT'ers

I wonder if you could give me some advice: I'm working on an essay about time-travel romances featuring contact with Jane Austen's worlds (real and fictional) and a few people have mentioned Jasper Fforde to me.

Which books of his should I read?

cheers
laura

None of the series are set in Austen's books particularly but Lost in a good book and the well of lost plots are probably closest, and do involve some of her characters - Miss Haversham especially. It will make slightly more sense if you start with the first The eyre affair.

Isn't Miss Havisham from Great Expectations?

They are bits from Sense and Sensibility, which are the funniest because meetings are held between scenes from the book at Norland, and the most recent book First Among Sequels features an attempt to turn Pride and Prejudice into a reality show.

*Blush*. Think before typing! Of course Haversham isn't actually in Sense and Sensibility.

>3 PensiveCat:

First Among Sequels also includes the refurbishment of Pride and Prejudice in advance of this transformation attempt. We get to see how most of the major charecters behave when "off set".
