Did you see on the NaNo home page that LJ is donating $1 for every LJ member who "wins" the purple bar this year? I just thought that was awesome! They're also donating a cool Dell laptop for the November fundraiser up in SF. Man, I want to go! I bet it's a heck of an experience. I wouldn't mind winning the laptop either.

I thinkyou mean Live Journal -- and yes, it is pretty neat! I have an LJ that I update every Monday. I'll have to remember to add something there about it!
I wish I could go to the SF meeting, too. That would be all kinds of fun! I'll just have to be content to think about them and keep writing.

Yesh, I did mean Live Journal. Sorry, I was a little tired last night when I posted the message.

Just thought I'd report that LJ has decided to donate $1,000 to NaNoWriMo, no strings attached! Pretty cool, huh? Here's a quote from their announcement:
NaNoWriMo Comes to an End
Congratulations to all the hardworking LJ novelists who cranked out so many words in the month of November! We promised to give NaNoWriMo's Young Writer's Program $1 for every LJer who completed NaNoWriMo this year (up to $1000) and in recognition of all the crazy plot ninjas, narrative dead-ends, and desperate word count–padding strategies, we've decided to dispense with the counting and give YWP the full $1000.
