Hi, all! I recently enjoyed Samuel R. Delany's Tales of Neveryon, many facets of which fascinated me, but I specifically wanted to pose to this group the idea of feminist creation myths.

In Delany's take on 'sword and sorcery', the character Raven recites her people's creation myth, one that readers might be tempted to call an inversion of Genesis. "In the beginning was the act...and the act was within womb of god..." (177). The tale also features an interesting take on the origin of female and male which I won't spoil for those who might pick it up.

What are some of your favorite feminist takes on the creation (of the world/life/etc.) that you have run across in science fiction? Why?
