Hi there,
New to Local here, so excuse me for possibly asking stupid questions.
I added my local libraries tonight and realized there are many in my state not listed. I'd like to contact both local library and more as I branch out and try to add more. How do you recommend I go about doing that? I would use the bookstore letter in the FAQ, although it doesn't seem to apply to libraries and I'd like them to get into LT.
Any suggestions?

Good question. I have added all the Free Library of Philadelphia branches not already added by others, and I have taken photos of many of them, but other than talking with branch librarians in person, I have not notified them that they are added to LT. I did find some librarians who are members of LT.
I have talked with bookstore owners about LT, and one of them joined LT and is adding events to Local.
Perhaps you should consider what is gained by contacting libraries, and what is achieved by adding many more libraries in Connecticut instead. As an engineering student, I know your time is limited for LT, so consider making choices.

I've been steadily adding the LA public library system over the last couple months (nearly finished!), and I had planned to just go in to the libraries when I go around to take pictures of them and chat with the librarian.

You can definitely take pictures of the exteriors of public libraries, but the interior may be a different matter. In Philadelphia, I have been told (but not officially confirmed) that photos of interiors are allowed, as long as no patrons of the libraries are shown. I was escorted out at one branch for taking a flash photo without any patrons in it, but that was not the usual situation.
Try to find out if there is an official rule, and then decide for yourself how strict you want to be about it. Let us know what you learn. Other members, let us know what you encounter. Big cities are likely to be very different from small towns, though.
