So, I am setting this goal, 75 books this year. I do not really think it will be that hard, but maybe it'll turn out harder... anyway here are the books I've read so far

1. Uglies by Scott Westerfield- without a doubt the best of the trilogy (and the longest)
2. Double Identity by Margaret Peterson Haddix- I had read a lot of her lately. one of my favorite books of hers
3. Running out of Time by Margaret Peterson Haddix
4. Pretties by Scott Westerfield
5. Escape from Memory by Margaret Peterson Haddix
6. Specials by Scott Westerfield- not the ending I wanted and Tally seems selfish. And the cutting themselves really annoyed me.
7. The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson- LOVE
8. The Discovery by Gordon Korman- ya, i normally don't read juvenille books, but i am still wanting to finish this trilogy
9. Teen, Inc. by Stefan Petrucha
10. Just Ella by Margaret Peterson Haddix- I just finished this today. it puts a nice twist on an otherwise predictable story
11. Deep by Susanna Vance- NOT RECOMENDED ya, there is this one chapter, totally innapropriate
12. My side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George- we read this in school... not one i would pick... somewhat boring

Well thats all I can remember right now, but I'm looking foward to getting new books tomorrow (yah)

no, i havent read the Midnighters, but if you think they're good then i may. and no, i havent read THe House of the Scorpion, though i think someone recomended it to me. i may have had enough clones (maybe not though) another thing my books have been centered around is memory...

18. I began reading Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson I'm only on page 17 and i already really like it. I'll write more when I've finished...

I finished Speak a few weeks ago. I really liked it a lot! She also wrote a book Fever 1793 and I highly recommend reading it if you haven't already.

I really liked Speak too! The only part I didnt like was that there was cussing... AHG!
There is too much cussing in the world... and in books.
Anyway's I really didnt expect... that to be what happened... (dont want to spoil) but I still thought it was really good.

Finished reading Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson. I liked it, but not as much as Speak (also by her)
21. Began and Finished The Black Sheep by Yvonne Collins and I loved it! It made me seriously laugh at some parts, and that doesn't happen often. It is one of my favorite books.
22. Broken Soup by Jenny Valentine I read this book in one day, and it was really good. I sometimes didn't like the dialogue, though.
23. Heaven looks a lot like the Mall by Wendy Mass (I just started this)

I've found that I'm liking books with romance in them... and the past, like, 4 books have.

I finished Heaven looks a lot like the Mall.
It was about a girl who, after a dodgeball incident, is put in a medically induced coma. In her mind, she is remembering all the important purchases made at her mall, and realizes a lot of her choices (involving the items she bought) weren't so good.
I really liked Wendy Mass's style of writing in this book.

24. The Girl who threw Butterflies by Mick Cochrane this book definately wasnt chic lit, if thats what you're looking for.
Summary: After her father's death, Molly decides to go out for the boys baseball team.
25. Unwind by Neal Shusterman

I love most of the books you've read! Awesome. You might like A Mango-Shaped Space if you liked the other one by Wendy Mass. Also, maybe 13 Little Blue Envelopes. It was light and quick, and I like Maureen Johnson.

Also, maybe Holly Black? I loved Tithe.

You've been reading some great YA titles, how did you like Unwind? You might like to look at Feed.

Funny, you should say. I'm actually in the middle of Unwind (I guess I should have put that), but I like it so far. And I actually do have Feed at my house to read.

Well, I've finished Unwind by Neal Shusterman and I totally loved it! I thought the ending was not predictable, and it was satisfying. (I think I spelled that wrong...) I wish there was a sequal!

26. If I Stay by Gayle Forman Well the question "If I stay" was totally different than what I thought. It wasn't very memorable though. I didn't really like this book... I dont know its just... ugh.
27. Learning to Swim by Cheryl Klam Chic Lit but good. I liked the style of writing.
28. Almost done with 13 Little Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson and already love it! (I tend to love most all the books I read...) I suppose I cant say a ton seeing as I havent finished it all yet, but I will.

I've also read Dread Locks by Shusterman and that was good creepy read.

I've finished 13 Little Blue Envelopes and am starting.... a book.... I just dont know which one yet (Either Palace of Mirrors, Feathered or Dive:The Deep Any ideas of which one?

#28: What did you think of The Hunger Games? I loved it when I read it earlier this year. I cannot wait for the sequel coming out in September.

I loved it too. But I didnt know until I finished it that there was a sequal. But I'll definately be reading it. You can pre-order Catching Fire on sites like Amazon pretty cheap. And also, there is going to be a third book, said to come out sometime in 2010.

I preordered Catching Fire on Amazon immediately after reading The Hunger Games.

thats what i want to do, pre-order it, but i havent been able to yet.

32. Girl v. Boy by Yvonne Collins I liked the book, and the storyline, but now that I'm finished, I can't say I loved it. SPOILER ALERTS!!! The authors didn't explain well how Lu and Joey 1) got over the problem and 2) how they got back together. ANd I found Joey contradiciting in what he wrote and how he acted. And that annoyed me. So now I am left with the feeling of wanting more.

33. The Declaration by Gemma Malley (just started)

I finished The Declaration, and loved it.

Its 2041, and Anna is Surplus, an illigal child. She lives in a Surplus home, teaching that Surplus are useless and they have no right to live. THis is because they have developed a drug, Longevity, which allows people to live forever, and since no one dies, if people continue to have children, they may run out of energy and food. But then Peter comes along, and he says he knows Anna's parents, and is determined to take Anna to them. But will she go? And what will happen if she does?

It was a ton like Unwind by Neal Shusterman, and I do like Unwind better. But this book was extremely good.

34. Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta I am just starting this book, and only because I loved Melina Marchetta's other book Saving Francesca and I hope I like it.

I gave up on Jellicoe Road. I only read the first few pages but I was like, I do not want to read this so I just didn't.

34. Perfect Strangers by Jahnna N. Malcolm I loved this book! I don't know why I liked it so much- it is really easy to figure out who Blue is- but I did. I thought the relationship between Blue and Madison was so awesome. Yes, this is a chick-lit book, but i seriously loved it. I reread the ending over and over again because I liked it that much.

37. The Write Stuff by Jahnna N. Malcolm Another Love Letters book, but still not as good as Perfect Strangers I'm sorry to say. Still good.
38. Message in a Bottle by Jahnna N. Malcolm the last Love Letters book. I'm not finished with it yet, but already it seems better than The Write Stuff

Yes, if you haven't noticed, I'm getting into the romance books.

39. Uncovering Sadie's Secrets by Libby Sternberg I rather liked this book.
40. Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli Well... I liked the book in the beginning, but towards the end, and especially at the end its just sad. Sad that because of that one thing, SPOILER!!! Leo doesn't ever see Stargirl, even once he's in college. (so I got) And so, the book makes you think... but I'm not sure I liked it because it was sad.
I know, not everything has a happy-ending, but, I think that's what most of us want to read. That is probably something to think about...
But, I'm still going to read the sequal, Love, Stargirl, and perhaps that will end a little happier.

hm.. well i've figured out that there is an order to the Stephie Davis books, or the Boys ones. Smart boys and Fast Girls is the last book, Who needs Boys the 3rd, Studying Boys 2nd, and Putting Boys on THe Ledge the first book. Doesnt mean you cant read them out of order, but seeing as i read the last book first, I know how all the couples end up. But thats ok.

44. My Secret Boyfriend by Lurlene McDaniel I'm not sure what to say... not bad but not that amazing.
45. Perfect You by Elizabeth Scott I did not need to read this. It seems like something you should read when you have nothing else to do.
46. The Book of Luke by Jenny O'Connel

47. Trust Me by Rachel Hawthorne The first book in the First Kisses series. Out of the ones I've read the best.
48. It had to be you by Sabrina Jordan The last First Kisses book. It was pretty good.
49. The Pretty One by Cheryl Klam Another one with a not totally happy ending. It was a really good book, but the ending was just, well, sad-ish.

50. The Boyfriend Trick by Stephie Davis
Yah! Just 25 more books! wonder if I'll make it? But I am happy with myself, and think its kinda sad that I had time to read 50/plus books in the summer... But I loved reading them so what does it matter?

51. Spin Control by Niki Burnham Way too much talk about the gay/lesbian good/bad subject. It got really annoying, and I didnt even read practically a whole chapter because it was all about Val contemplating what her mom did...
52. Downsiders by Neal Shusterman I loved this book almost as much as Unwind The ending was left a little open, but not in the way where things are unfinished, in the way where things are finished, but you imagine what would happen next. Awesome book.
53. Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin I kept seeing this book, and finally decided to read it. And so far (I'm not finished with it) I'm glad I did.

Same here. I never really liked James, but I loved the book. I'm thinking of reading Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin too.

54. Sweethearts by Sara Zarr I loved this book but the ending was a little sad-again! I wish that either there was more to the book or a sequal, just so we could figure out what happens to Cameron and them together.
55. Dream Factory by Brad Barkley I thought this was an amazing book. It was very philosophical, which got a little annoying and hard to follow at some points. But that was easy to get over, and I loved the book.

64. Love, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli ok, better than Stargirl but, the ending is just like... well it doesnt make sense to me. I don't like these books. It doesn't make sense to me that if Stargirl loves Leo, why she doesn't want to tell him. I don't know... I just don't like these books.
65. Enthusiasm by Polly Shulman pretty good, kind of predictable, but it is the first book i've ever read about an Enthusiast
67. Secrets of my Hollywood Life by Jen Calonita I had gotten this book before and didnt read it, but I got it again and am glad I did. And I liked it enough to probably get the next books.
68. Falling from Fire by Teena Booth I dont know many other ways to say you liked a book other than just that "I liked this book"
69. True BLue by Jeffery Lee hmm... well the book itself was good... but what Chrys's secret was was... well it made my friend not want to read it. But when she finally did she even admitted that it wasnt that bad. And you can read it through in a hour or less so...

70. Pure by Terra Elan McVoy Well, I liked it... just since it did deal with Christianity, if you don't agree with what the book is saying, you might not want to read it. I dont personally agree with it all, but I got through it, and it was a really good book.
71. The Decoding of Lana Morris by Laura McNeal I am sweet on this book. (Sorry, trying to find an antonym for "like") Or, I adore this book. You pick. It was a little slow in the beginning, but was really good.
72. The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams I'm almost hallf way through, and am intrigued. It a quick read too, or so far. At one part, around page 80, I was literally gasping. (if you've read the book, you know what I'm talking about)

73. The Off Season by Catherine Murdock At first, I wasn't sure if this one would be as good as Dairy Queen, but I thought it was better! I can't wait for my library to get the third book (Front and Center)!
74. Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder I am really liking this book so far. It's reminding me a lot of The Hunger Games, so the many fans one of those will probably like the other. (I hope that made sense... to me it does :) ) And this book may seem big, but its easy to get through and doesnt lag.

78. Catching Fire by SUzanne Collins YES! I am so glad this finally came out! My library got it really quickly, and I'm almost finished with it- I love it so far! Can not wait till next September when the third one comes out (way too long)

#64: I agree that waiting an entire year for the third Hunger Games book is entirely too long!

79. THe Season by Sarah MacLean I rather liked this book. I loved the setting, and well, the storyline.
80. The Juliet Club by Suzanne Harper Again, liked the book. A lighter read than say, The Hunger Games but I still liked it.

*Both these books were very clean (Besides maybe two very minor words) and I am extremely happy for that.

Finished Summer Confidential: Sunrise Really enjoyed it. Light, but not exactly chick lit.

I really liked this series, or trilogy. I'm surprised more people haven't read them. I thought the story was unique enough, and I liked the characters. I would recommened these for Middle Schoolers.

#68: Nothing but Ghosts looks pretty good. I am looking forward to your thoughts on it.

Well, I just finished it. I thought at some points it was hard to follow- just because there was supposed to be a connection between Mrs. Martine and Katie's mom, but I didn't understand it. Maybe I just looked over something, or whatever. I did like the story, and I thought Katie was a pretty good character. It wasn't an absolute favorite book of mine, and I can't say I loved it, but it was good enough that I don't regret reading it, and I would tell other people that it is a good book.

Kinda in between books- reading (85.) Fire Study by Maria V. Snyder, but when I get new books I'll probably postpone reading it.

85. Perfect Girl by Mary Hogan Not amazed. Really just if you want a light read that wouldnt make you think and were bored would you read it.
86. Access Denied by Denise Vega Good sequel. I almost never cry and I almost did when I read this book. But its not a sad book overall. Really good.

These books are the Noble Lagacy Series, and probably one of the best series I've ever read. I loved the side stories in the books and the characters, and all the problems. I loved just about everything about these books. I must say, some things became a tiny bit repetitive. But for anyone who is a fan of Romance, or Action, or Suspense, or Christian books, theses are for you. (And don't not read them just because their Christian- thats all the more reason you should)

The Warren series looks like something my daughter Catey would enjoy. Thanks for the recommendation, Lauren.

95. The Squad: Perfect Cover by Jennifer Lynn Barnes I really liked this book and am looking foward to the next book (The Squad: Killer Spirit)

98. Killer Spirit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes I really liked this series, and wish there was more! These books would be good for middleschoolers. (There is a little cussing, but not a ton)

Going for Record was really good. It was a sad-er book, but didn't end all sad.

The following may have SPOILERS, so if you are planning on reading the above mentioned book, you may choose to skip over this.

It annoys me when people won't read a really good book just because someone or people die- like in the Hunger Games, they won't read it because a lot of people die, and they think it is sad, so they won't read it. That's how it was with this book. It was a really good, coming-of-age type book that I think a lot of people would enjoy and should read.

Now, moving on from my rant...
101. Academy 7 by Anne Osterlund I liked it. Cool enough story, and I liked the characters, but it really wasn't as good as I really thought.

If you're really paranoid about SPOILERS dont read the following pararaph, but anything I say you wouldn't know from reading the back of the book.

I would have liked to know really why Aerin was attracted to Dane. A reader can definately figure out why- he was her first real friend- but that I remember, she never really said "I like how supportive Dane is" or "I love how trusting he is" or someting of the sort. Some may argue that feelings shouldnt be said outright- "I LOVE DANE!" like- which I agree, but I didn't really get a feel of what brought Aerin's feelings from friendship to romance.

Gosh, another rant....

102. North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley Am liking this book, as of halfway through... but I do think I have one thing to say about it once I finish...

I am putting Going for the Record on Planet TBR. Academy 7 I am not so sure about - I may give it a try and see if I like it, I may not.

I will be interested in seeing your thoughts on North of Beautiful when you are finished with it.

North of Beautiful was really good. I loved the relationship between Terra and Jacob. The characters, especially Jacob, were extremely good. I think this would be a great book for teenage girls, because it explores True Beauty, and becoming more than just physically beautiful.
I only have two problems with the book. I thought that Terra's feelings for Jacob just kinda popped up, like 5 pages after she met him, and that was weird. And, this is just me, but I think most artists are right brained people, who go with the flow. Terra didn't seem like that, though she was an artist. That's just my viewpoint, and I'm sure there are a lot of artists out like her, but thats what I thought.
But, I loved this book. It took longer to read, but was totally awesome, and I totally recommend it.

103. The Princess and the Pauper ny Kate Brian I liked it, but it was a little Disney in the fact that after one night really 2 certain someones fall in love. But it was a quick, cool read.
104. Front and Center by Catherine Murdock I finally got this book, and am soo excited to read it.

Front and Center was good. Just good. I didn't like it nearly as much as the first two books.
105. Bad Connection by Melody Carlson

106. Beyond Reach by Melody Carlson A book as good as the first. I do think the books should be for highschoolers, and maybe 8th graders, just because the contents- drugs, suicide, etc. But these are awesome books. I think Carlson is a great writer, and am looking foward to getting the last two books in the McGregor series.

I will pass your recommendations of the Carlson books on to my daughter, Catey. I know she has read a copy of Carlson's books, but I do not think she has read these two.

#90: I have read the first 2 books in the Ally Carter series and enjoyed them. My local library does not have a copy of the third book in the series yet. I hope you get to read the entire series.

113. Don't Judge a Girl by her Cover by Ally Carter I think this series is deffinately getting better. The 2nd and 4rd books are much better than the first. I can't wait until the fourth book comes out. (According to Carter's website, she has turned in a 3rd draft, so its that much closer.
114. The Maze Runner by James Dashner I am super excited to read this book, and trilogy. I'm on page 58, and am loving it so far.

114. I absolutely LOVED The Maze Runner. It was one of the best books I've read in a while. I almost cried at the end, and I really do not cry easily. I thought the Glade was set up superbly, and I thought the reason everyone was in the Glade was awesome, if you could call it that. The onlt downer is that now I have to wait until next October to read the next book in The Maze Runner trilogy.
115. A Kiss in Time by Alex Flinn I loved this book. Sleeping Beauty is my favorite fairy tale, and this book made it soo much better. It threw out all that "I love you even though I've never talked to you" crap, which made me super happy. I loved the characters, even though Talia started off really snobbish, I liked her, and she got a lot better- and Jack was awesome. There was still some magic, which I don't normally like, but in this book, and I'm thinking all of Flinn's books, it always works. I am really looking foward to getting some more of Flinn's books.
I finished The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin I liked the ending though it was somewhat unrealistic. It was hard to follow at some points, expecially the beginning, and I didn't like how the perspective would change a lot, but it was a pretty good book.

117. Breathless by Lurlene McDaniel Read my review- I don't feel like retyping all that. But I will say five things: It is about euthinasia, I hated it, it is the most depressing book ever, never read it, I am never reading another McDaniel book again.
118. Wish you were Dead by Todd Strassser I'm about 100 pages into this book, and I really like it. I think the suspense it good, and I like Madison. I am looking foward to finding out what happened to Lucy and the other little mysteries.

Wish you were Dead was really good. (I wish I had another way to say that) I thought the mystery aspect of it was awesome, and the romance, I thought, added to the story.

119. Back Home by Julia Keller I didn't like this book that much... it wasn't so much the writing, just the story..
120. Getting the Girl by Susan Juby I would say I loved this book if not for the insane amount of vulgarity, especially since Sherman and his friends are 14.

I reread Unwind and it was just as good as I remembered

I'll look out for The Maze Runner too. I just got a copy of A Kiss in Time a couple of days ago, I've been looking forward to reading it as I loved her Beastly.

I think I liked A Kiss in Time better than Beastly, I think I liked the characters more, and I just like the story of Sleeping Beauty better than Beauty and the Beast

121. The Amaranth Enchantment by Julie Berry Liking it so far, but maybe not loving it

As said, I didn't love The Amaranth Enchantment. I'm not sure why I didn't like it, it just wasnt amazing. I think I was expecting more out of it.
122. Hamlet by William Shakespeare I read this book as I watched the movie Hamlet, and of the Shakespear plays I've read (2) this has been my favorite.
123. Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

124. Othello by William Shakespeare I didn't like it as much as Hamlet or Romeo And Juliet but I did like it. In a way it reminds me of Nicholas Nickleby (Which I want to read). Iago is obviously Ralph Nickleby, as they both are evil without an apparant reason. In the beginning of the play, Othello is much like Nicholas, both being extremely kind, but that, of course, changes once Othello... goes off the deep end.
On that note, I felt bad for Desdemona, her being wrongly accused- and ultimately killed- for something she never, ever did.
I find it strange that Iago doesn't die, but I'm sure he does- after they finish torturing him.
I didn't like Cassio much. Othello thinks so highly of him, yet I don't think he is a man of character. While he never did anything bad dealing with Desdemona, he was involved with the prostitute Bianca, and he laughed at her. It seems as if he puts on a front for Othello, and acts differently in private.
Othello, while was extremely trustworthy, seemed to lose his trust easily. He trusted Iago and Desdemona, yet he completly stopped trusting Desdemona as soon as Iago planted the lies in his head, and wouldn;t change his mind even when Desdemona insisted she hadn't done anything wrong. In this play, no one seems to think that wives are trustworthy, which in some cases may be true, but you can't count on this, or else you will be turned into an Othello.

125. Distant Waves by Suzanne Weyn Three stars. It seemed a little slow- having practically nothing to do with the Titanic until maybe 100 pages before the end of the book. I understand this though, for it was needed to set the book up. I don't like things dealing with spiritualism, but I was ok with it in this book because it made the book.
I liked Thad, but I like Mimi much more that I liked Jane. Infact, I didn't like Jane a whole ton.
I liked all the scentific things in the book, and even liked the time travel aspect. (I was glad that it made Jane older).
I liked all the historical aspects of this book, and the authors note at the end was cool to read (though long).
I had wanted to buy this book before I read it, but instead got it from my library, and am glad that I didn't buy it. It was a good book, but not one I would want to invest in.

126. Snap by Carol Snow

When photograher Madison's family goes to Sunyland, she is told it is for vacation. But soon, she finds that she'll be staying there for the summer, or maybe longer. She doesn't like the small-ness of Sunyland, and just wants to go back to her old life. But, she can't, of course.
When a woman appears in one of her photos, things change. THis wouldn't be weird, except for the fact that the woman wasn't there when Madison took the picture. Days later, Madison finds out that that woman is dead. LAter, a man appears in her picture, and he winds up getting hit of a car. She begins to think that whoever shows up in her photos, will soon die. So when her new boyfriend shows up in the photos, and finally herself, she expects the worse- that they both will die. Can she change this? And will there be enough time?

At first, Madison is rather spoiled. She gets a little better later in the book, but its not til the end when she fully changes. (You'll see why.) I really liked her voice, the realism of her. And the writing style was really good. THere was romance in this book (a little) which I appreciated. There were maybe 3 or 4 cuss words, but they were small and infrequent.
This has been one of my favorite books in a while, and I would totally recommend this book

I have a few books to read, but don't feel like reading those particular books.... I'm feeling like a romance book.... any ideas?

If you are looking for young adult romance, I cannot help there. If you are looking for more mature romance books (and I do not mean the X-rated variety) a couple of my favorites are My Darling Caroline by Adele Ashworth and One Perfect Rose by Mary Jo Putney.

Finished One Perfect Rose by Mary Jo Putney I really liked the story line, but parts of the book were like OKAY...... I'm debating whether or not to get another Putney book, but I think I will...
128. Switch by Carol Snow Not nearly as good as Snap. I was disappointed that it wasn't better, though the story line is original enough to make a good book. Parts just didn't make sense... I'm still going to look for another Snow book though.
