I've just started adding some author pics, and now I have a question.

Is there any way to deal with authors with the same name. Just upload pics of the different people and note which one they are? Just add one for now? Something else?

Hi, KarenElissa. I have that same question in regard to Thomas Moore. The Thomas Moore who's the author of my books is not the Moore pictured in my gallery. (Mine is much more handsome.) This may be a bug that LibraryThing needs to work out; I queried it and was told it was unfixable right now.

Good luck!

LT currently doesn't have a way to create a page for each separate author, so all authors with the same name currently have to share the same picture.

However, LT is making steps to disambiguate between authors with the same name--you might have noticed the recently-introduced ability to "split the author" so you can separate which books belong to which author. That should eventually lead to the ability to have separate pages, and thus separate pictures, for each author.

So, my recommendation for now would be to upload the pictures now, assuming you have proper permissions or have references to show that it is public domain. Just add a note at the bottom (in the credit section after the photographer) distinguishing which author the photo represents.

Ya, I've sorted authors out before, so I'll just upload the different pics and not who they belong to. Thanks!
