The titles for the next Harry Dresden book is called Changes...and is due out 06 April 2010. Here is the Amazon synopsis:

Long ago, Susan Rodriguez was Harry Dresden's lover-until she was attacked by his enemies, leaving her torn between her own humanity and the bloodlust of the vampiric Red Court. Susan then disappeared to South America, where she could fight both her savage gift and those who cursed her with it.

Now Arianna Ortega, Duchess of the Red Court, has discovered a secret Susan has long kept, and she plans to use it-against Harry. To prevail this time, he may have no choice but to embrace the raging fury of his own untapped dark power. Because Harry's not fighting to save the world...

He's fighting to save his child.

Looking forward to it. One problem though: unless its already out in some alternate universe, I'm guessing the year on the release date is 2010, not 2009.

A one word title?! That's already quite a departure from the rest of the series.

I'm going to guess the White Council will view the 'child' much like they'd view Susan - evil to be destroyed at first chance.

The Book begins with a phonecall from Susan. Something like "They have our child, help me".

I hate it when the synopsis contains spoilers. I hate spoilers.

The one word title is making me nervous.

Oh. My. God. What an ending!

This is a major departure from the rest of the series.

Has anyone else finished it. Can I start discussing the spoilers?

I'm #67 in line for it from the public library :(

They have 15 copies but I'm still looking at several weeks wait. Don't want to buy the hardcover.

The ebook price isn't horrendous - given that the paperback isn't out yet.

I was wrong in #3. And wrong in where I thought Turn Coat would take Thomas.

It's a hell of a ride.

Chronology ?

The daughter is given as 8 and concieved in that Susan bondage session from way back in Death Masks and in White night we learn that was 4 years ago. Has it really been 4 years since WN ??

Yeah the years fit. And according to the next book summary harry is going to be a not 100% dead ghost.

Very spoilery question but not the one from the end of the book. That I figure will be handled in the next book, but this I think maybe I just missed:

Who sent the guy who shot Butters while trying for Harry? He said it was someone who looked like Susan, but Susan was in FBI custody and obviously didnt. So who was the shapeshifter?

That was the Eebs, she shifted to look like Susan (sorry I don't remember her name, favorite son now has the book since I finished it).

The Eebs? Too easy I think.

Because Harry was shot at the end, I strongly suspect the shapeshifter was a newcomer on the scene was someone else who had not made its move yet in 'Changes'.

Most probably, the shapeshifter will turn out to be the same one who ordered the hit on Harry.

No, it's pretty sure that was the Eebs.
The hit at the end is unknown though.

Yeah also sure it was the eebs.

Hit at the end - Kincaid? He always said he could take Harry with a sniper shot. Jealous because of Murphy? Or one of the other Vamp courts evening the score? or?

Thirding the Eebs. Lets not try to muddy the waters with conspiracy when its relatively clear from the book itself who did it. Anyone else have minor brain shutdown when they finish? I read the last line at 11:30 last night and was stuck in "WTF?" mode, jaw hanging open and everything for like two minutes.

ETA: Fixed stupid typo.

#19 " Anyway else have minor brain shutdown when they finish? I read the last line at 11:30 last night and was stuck in "WTF?" mode, jaw hanging open and everything for like two minutes."

Yep. Went back and re-read it, I haven't made a mistake have I? He really did just do that? No? WTF? etc.

Posted a micro-review of the book on my site here: http://deusexlibrus.wordpress.com/2010/09/23/the-dresden-files-changes/

Planning to go back and do a more involved review at some point in the next day or two.

I hope Mister's OK. Harry better not send Mouse away--loved "I won him". I was flabbergasted when he took Mab's offer.
