I just can't pass on this challenge. I haven't yet counted the number of books on the list that I have read yet, but will do soon.
Meanwhile, I will treat this challenge as I do the other 1001, and just add the occasional book to the list as I read them. But I will not be putting any pressure on myself this time!

I have read 264 of these books. I guess my history as a teacher of young children has helped - I have read 88 of the 161 books for the under 5's, and have probably read even more, but I can't remember them all!
I like this list a lot because it includes so many Australian titles - and all of them deserving of inclusion too!
