- Despite a limited budget, Washington Memorial Library maintains a decent basic collection. Its genealogical and historical collection (ground floor), however, is one of the best in the American South. The elegant reading room on the Library's second floor is spacious and well-lit, and friendly reference librarians are available for patron questions. Also, stop by Joshua Cup coffee shop across the street for gourmet coffee, deli lunch and bakery items (free wi-fi, too). Be sure to stroll through nearby Washington Park, which features lush flowering trees and soothing waterfalls.
