Welcome to Recycled Reads, Austin Public Library’s used book store. We sell books and media that have been retired from the library’s collection, as well as materials donated to the library by folks cleaning out their bookshelves and garages. We’re talking thousands of items offered every day we’re open, and what we sell changes all the time. Most hardcovers sell for only $2 each, most softcovers for $1, and we hold regular specials and sales.
If things don’t sell, they’re sent to a philanthropic organization supporting schools in the developing world, and if that organization can’t use them, they’re turned into building materials. Nothing goes into a landfill, and we think that’s important!
Collectible and out-of-print items of special interest often come our way, and we offer them at reasonable prices. Recycled Reads also sells vinyl, cassettes, and CDs at reasonable prices. Our goal is to raise money to support the Austin Public Library’s collections and programs, and to keep Austin green. If you’re in or near Austin, come pay us a visit. - Toegevoegd door
