Greenblatt is a legendary investor, but I do have a problem with his "magic formula." For starter, I'm not big into value investing (I prefer holding QQQ/SPY/TLT and stock options). His magic formula essentially just filters out companies with low P/E ratios and EV/EBITDA ratios with high ROICs. You could use his formula as a screener, but also ensure that the company trades high volumes and is liquid. I wouldn't blindly purchase the stocks that the formula spits out. ( ) I had this book on hold and the librarian couldn't find it. So many books had come in! But I had a magic formula for finding it. "Look for the little book," I said. Not exactly magic but it worked like a charm. Same for the advice in this book. It's simple, logical and gives a clear path to execute. It's also funny, which makes this a classic in personal finance. And of course it's short, which at least sweeps you into the qualifiers (like, you won't always make money). It's all basic value investing. Not exactly magic but it worked for Warren Buffett. The little book that still beats the market is a simple, well-written book for investment dummies. It guides its readers towards 100% certain profits. By applying two basic stock-market principles, Greenblatt has created a strategy that beats the market over the long term. The hard part? Actually believing in the magic formula long enough so that it can bear its fruits, even during market downturns. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

In 2005, Joel Greenblatt published a book that is already considered one of the classics of finance literature. In The Little Book that Beats the Market-a New York Times bestseller with 300,000 copies in print-Greenblatt explained how investors can outperform the popular market averages by simply and systematically applying a formula that seeks out good businesses when they are available at bargain prices. Now, with a new Introduction and Afterword for 2010, The Little Book that Still Beats the Market updates and expands upon the research findings from the original Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
