Thriller

One of the best Lucas Davenport thrillers, as it includes a "prequel" section describing Lucas' first years as a Minneapolis cop. For readers who know him in his later, more mature years, it's quite interesting. Sandford does a fine job of showing the differences in attitude, knowledge, and character between patrolman Lucas and BCA big dog Lucas. ( )

Very good story, well-written and very stressful. There is an unusual quirk/error in this book in that it contradicts some facts in the immediately earlier Prey book. ( )

Sandford crafts another wonderful story staring Lucas Davenport. He reveals more of Davenport's character by taking the reader back to a case that haunted Davenport for years. Many authors lose steam as they continue writing the same characters in the same series, but not Sanford. This installment in the Prey series is every bit as enjoyable as the first. ( )

Another good Davenport outing, with interesting backstory about when he was a rookie cop. Excellent and hilarious cop speak, and a thrilling plot. The hits just keep on coming. ( )
