This book talked a lot about people that were never mentioned or that I ever heard of.This book mentioned about Claudette Colvin who was the first person to not give up her seat and was beaten. And sent to jail after what had happened. A lot of people do not talk about her but this book did so it was good for something new. I have read a lot about Rosa parks but this book talked about things you have probably never heard of and it was so refreshing for something new.It also a really good book to learn about standing up for something that you know is not right. And for rights she believed for and took a stand.
I really loved this book because when I thought I knew stuff about Rosa Parks I guess I never really did. What really surprised me is when they talked about people I never knew existed and where part of it. And Nixon who was helping with the civil rights movement going around telling people to refuse to go on the bus. Also that Rosa Parks did not really agree with the Martin Luther King Jr. movement. After Rosa Park did the movement she had to move to Detroit because no one would hire her or husband.And once they moved there they stayed until she passes and was buried in Detroit . This book is really good book for kids that want to learn more on Rosa Parks. I really recommend this book to learn new things that you might have never known. ( )

Rosa Parks is one of my favorite historical figures! Obviously, this book is about her life and the choices she made to aide in ending segregation. On December 1, 1955, after Rosa had been working all day she took her normal bus route home. However, this time, Rosa decided not to give her seat up to the white people once the bus got crowded. This created quite a scene, but Rosa was determined to bring inequality to light. Rosa and her active part in the civil rights movement will never be forgotten.

This book offers personal insight into discrimination and the fight for equality. It would work well to read aloud to your class in February during black history month or is also a great reference for a student research project.

This is a great read for 3rd-5th graders.

Who was Rosa Parks is a book about well of course Rosa Parks and this is her story. Rosa Parks was born on February 4, 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama. She grew up with her mother, her brother, and her grandparents after her parents separated. Rosa was a kind person who pitied those who called her names. In 1932 she married Raymond Parks. December 1, 1955 Rosa sat down on the bus, soon she was told to move so that s white man could sit she didn't and this caused a stir.
She was put in jail then taken to court where to put a lawsuit to the bus company. The company didn't really change so she boycotted the bus company and all the blacks walked to their destinations, but eventually things changed because the company realized how much money it was losing. at a point in time Rosa worked with Martan Luther king jr. and overall was a big help in the fight against racism. Rosa died in 2005 at the age of 92. She might me gone , but she is surely not forgotten.

Overall i really liked the book and i would recommend itt to those looking for info on rosa parks she was a really inspirational figure and after reading this book i now see that i hope you will enjoy the book like me it was a nice little read and it's easy for kids. Even though there are pictures it's still a book that is a nice challenge. Personally having black ancestry I think what she did was amazing she stood up for what she believed in and look at the world now she is remembered all over america and she will never be forgotten in the hearts of many.
