( ) this book is about a boy who is going on a famiely trip and before they leave his brother gets into trouble and he needs help from his brother so his brother comes to save him before the famiely trip.on the airplane the older brother dont know where he wants to sit and he keeps walking around and him mom tells him to sit down alredy because it was makeing her mad. my opinion on this book is that it was an ok book it was just very weiod at frist and the setting changes to quick and i kinda got confused at points but it was a ok book When a family goes into the mountains for research (for the parents’ job), two boys are left alone due a death in the family. When the parents are gone, the children find themselves in trouble and one must face his fears to save his brother. This book took me back to the adventures I often dreamt about when I was younger. I was always hiking through the woods with my cousins and nature watching and this book took me to a place I have never been: the mountains of Colorado. I intensely read the book and put myself in the shoes of the two boys. Their fear seemed real as did their admiration and courage. This would be a book to consider reading as a class as the level seems appropriate for a fourth grade classroom. Students could analyze the setting, characters, rise, climax and resolution of the story quite easily. It is also a fairly quick read.
Newbery Medalist Reynolds (Shiloh) presents a solid action story, tense and involving although it does play out somewhat predictably. Prijzen
