All the Way to America is a picture book that shows readers a story of a boy immigrating to America from Italy. It shows his journey, what he learned and his Italian family roots. I think this would be a good book to have in a 3rd-5th grade classroom because it has some complex words. ( ) This book I would use for kindergarten through third because it is fairly short and easy to read. This book was very heartwarming, it told the tale of a man traveling to America and included very sweet Italian details within the story. It was both relatable and able to teach about a culture and something that many families have experienced. I would use this in a classroom to introduce culture and the idea of travel and immigration. This story tells is about family heritage and the family tree of the author. The story follows the passing of a little shovel and ideas through generations of the family. I think this would be a great book to share with K-2nd graders, especially before show and tell. Another activity you could do with this in the classroom is having students make their own family trees of who is in their family. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
