How the Grinch Got So Grinchy by Bonnie Worth is about the story of the Grinch and why he acts the way he does. It starts with the story of his birth and how he grows up and goes to school with all the kids from Whoville. At school he thinks Martha May Whovier likes him and since it is Christmas time, makes her an angel for her tree and shave so he looks like the other kids. At school he is made fun of and goes on to hate Christmas and all of Whoville.

I am not sure if I like this story because I think it is a mean way for children to act towards someone who looks different. This teaches children it is okay to act mean to others.

I would use this story as a tool to show how being cruel to someone can damage them for the rest of their lives. Just because someone looks different, does not mean you can be mean to them or make fun of them.
