"America is..." by Louise Borden is a wonderful book all about the land, holidays, and culture of the United States of America." This book shares the "Pledge of Allegiance" as well as the "Star Spangled Banner". The story also talks about famous landscapes and rivers that can be found in America. "America is..." discusses all the things that make America what it is. Most importantly America means freedom for all. I enjoyed reading this book, and think it would be a great book to read to students for an American history lesson. ( )

America is... This book is a great interpretation of what America is and how our everyday life is always different and changing. It shows different aspects of what we think America is. From the Pledge to the National Anthem, the story behind our flag, to even what the backbone of America is. We also see the hard working farmers that provide not only food for their families but the food for people across the country. I think that this book really shows what we have in our America and how all of the pieces fit together and create this America. ( )

This was a great book for young readers to get a good understanding of what America really is. It's good for children to understand the freedom we have and what America is all about. It talks about the American flag and how the fifty stars represent the fifty states and the thirteen stripes for the thirteen states that began our nation. It talks about the Pledge of Allegiance and The Star Spangled Banner and is even there for the children to recite. The book discusses the hard work people do in order to provide and help families all over the world, example: farmers. This is a wonderful book that salutes our great country and shows true American pride. The pictures are very bright and colorful and shows a great representation of what America is. ( )

This is a book that tries to explain what America made up of. This is a good book to remind the reader what is that makes up this country. It tells of the people, places, and things that stand for America. The drawings are very colorful, full page and follow the text on each page. ( )

"We are one family, and one team." This book is great to give the kids a basic overview of American pride. It is rich in traditions such as the pledge, and our national anthem. The book talks about the original colonies, and the 50 stars on the flag. A great art project would be to name each stripe, and label 50 stars. This would teach the kids which were original colonies, and which came later. Plus they would have a cool Flag! ( )
