Sam is busy hunting down a man who killed his entire family when another of Nick's friends, a supreme court nominee, is murdered. Working both cases is taking a toll on Sam but it is also taking a toll on Nick who is having trouble dealing with the danger Sam encounters every day. They are also getting a lot of media attention. And that is not helping. Will their relation stand the stress? This is a fun series. Sam is one tough lady and it is sort of fun to see the man in the relationship be the one with the anxiety over his partner's job. But a little bit of that goes a long way. After a while I just wanted him to grow a pair. Other than that the story moves along well and had plenty of action. There was more sex than I like but I know that is just me and lots of people will enjoy the sex scenes. I just skim through them. No big. I like the characters in this book and will be reading the next in the series. Fatal Justice (A Fatal Series Novel Book 2) By: Marie Force Publisher: Carina Press Pages. 397 Copy Courtesy of Goodreads First Read Reviewed by: tk An amazing thriller. How far will you go to protect your family from their dark secrets? Senator Nick Cappuano is taking the position for one year only as the Senator of Virginia. His best friend was in this position, but could not complete his obligations due to his death. His friend was murdered. Lieutenant Sam Holland is Nick sweetheart. She is investigating this murder which will test her limits, and put her own life in danger. Can they survive knowing the truth… I had a difficult time the first few pages. I have no reason why this would have happened. The story is amazing. I love the relationship between Nick and Sam. They work well together in there choice of careers and their romance. The hardest thing to do is not giving any spoilers. This is also a case of “I didn’t see that coming”. Incredible plot twists will keep those pages turning and keep you in enraptured to its astonishing conclusion. I look forward to the next installment. If you’re a suspense/thriller seeker with a touching heart felt romance, this is a story for you. 4/5 geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

There are many suspects in the murder case which is exacerbated by controversial issues such as homosexuality and abortion. Supporting characters including Sam's partner, Freddie, who discovers that he likes sex, and Sam's father, who is in the process of getting married lend interesting subplots to an already detailed story.
This is another good entry in the Fatal series. I'm anxious to read the next book, Fatal Consequences. ( )
