"I can't believe it's been so long since I've visited Eve and the crew! I've missed them! I have some serious catching up to do."

page 178 "Well, now I have to go check out the author's website so I can remember the other coin stories. It's been a long time since I've read them."

page 262 "Dear One had only a small thread of paranormal, but the story wasn't bad."

page 328 "The Unforgiven is a bit clichéd and predictable, but still held my interest."

Well, the Eve Dallas story was definitely my favorite, and the only reason I got this book from the library. I'm not sure "paranormal" was really supposed to be a theme here, more "unsettling". The other four stories were okay, but I don't think most people would bother with them if they weren't in a collection with an In Death story. ( )

I picked this book up because there was something in it by J.D. Robb. I found that I had already read that particular book and I had never read any of the three remaining authors. Two of the stories,Dear One by Patricia Gaffney and His Brothers Keeper by Mary Kay McComas were very good. The other two were just okay. They weren't the type of story that catches my interest. ( )

I purchased this anthology of four novellas because I wanted to read CHAOS IN DEATH. Although I enjoyed the novella by J.D. Robb (probably being a fan of the IN DEATH series helped) but felt that it could have been expanded into one of her full-length books. The antagonist was definitely interesting enough to carry a full-length book and the possibilities, given more time, might have been interesting.

As for the other three stories, typical paranormal romance, two not bad and one I would recommend a pass. I’ll let any future readers of the four stories decide for themselves.

I bought this book for the JD Robb story. I wasn't disappointed in it at all, I loved it!! The other ones left me empty. I just couldn't get into them at all. ( )
