Is it just me or is there excessive use of the words "whip" and "lash" in this book? (With a few instances of "whiplash" thrown in, of course.) The urge to keep a running tally kept distracting me from the story.... ( ) The story was interesting. Wish there had been more development either within Harmony or within Lance. The grandfather seemed to be a throw-away character and that is a damned shame. The story became somewhat redundant when neither Lance nor Harmony could hang on to lessons they learned and acknowledged in the previous chapters. That was frustrating. Listened to audio narrated really well by Alexandria Wilde. Harmony, Jonas' sister, code named Death, is an assassin chased and hunted by humans and breed alike. Harmony picks up Lance in a bar and it turns out he's her mate. Harmony doesn't realize it until the next day, when she's suffering the mating heat, and freaks out. Harmony waffles back and forth from scared little girl, ready to run at the drop of a hat, to competent, sure of herself assassin. Lance is the sheriff and Cherokee, the winds talk to him and he knows Harmony is his. Jonas wants something from Harmony and he will do anything to manipulate her into giving him what he wants. Harmony's rescuers want to snatch her away from Lance and Jonas' clutches but she refuses and the bigoted, racist reverend wants her dead. There's a lot of action and a lot of heated, dominant sex. I went back and forth with this couple, mostly I really like them together. I enjoy Alpha, dominant men, I just didn't care for sexual passions being used to coerce Harmony into submitting to Lance. More of my reviews can be found at https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com/ Even though I rated them the same, Harmony's Way was worse than Megan's Mark as far as the romance is concerned. I did not care about Lance and Harmony at all. I didn't get to know who Lance was and Harmony is supposed to be the best there is that she is nicknamed "Death", but once Lance steps into the picture, she becomes a meek, weak-willed woman who cries all the time. The sex scenes were so numerous and repetitive, that I just skimmed right through them. The only thing that kept my interest was the plot. I enjoy reading the politics of the breeds and what might happen with their future. I really hope the next few books get better or I may have to put this series to bed. 3.5 stars geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
