While I think all erotica anthologies are uneven, since not everything is going to get a particular person off, I'm very fond of these early Flesh and the Word anthologies, edited by John Preston. There were a number of stories that I really liked here, especially Preston's Absolution and Michael Bronski's description of Boston's Combat Zone. There's also a fun essay by Jim Merrett on women who write gay male porn. I recommend both this one and the first volume of the same series ( )
