It's been more then 20 years since I read this book, but I loved it as a child. ( ) This book was one book that really stuck in my memory as a pre-teen. It takes place in a world in which the Nazi's win the 2nd World War and life is a bit different. The main character, Anna, is brilliant and yet a bit off. Easy to understand as a young teenage girl. She learns the truth of her identity and has to deal with some of the not so nice realities of life and growing up. It also provoked an interest in me to learn more about what happened in Germany during the War. A teenager's tale in a science fiction plot. Anna is smart as they come, and so when she meets her doppleganger, she knows it's more than just a coincidence. Her journey to the discovery of what she is ultimately leads to the understanding that what is not as important as who. It is a masterful tale--one of those rare books that I read years ago and with no fanfare has stayed with me since. Too bad it's out of print. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
