Chepito doesn't want to go to his first day of school and is trying his best to avoid it. So he's going all over the place, asking people why they're doing what they're doing. They all have something in common: they're reading. He asks them why and gets a variety of different answers. When Chepito finally arrives at school, he asks his teacher what she is doing and finds out that she will be reading to him. This starts a whole new mindset for Chepito, his story comes full circle with his little sister at the end of the school day. I'd put this at a first grade level to read to because it's a book about encouraging students to read and telling them why it's helpful. ( ) The book may inspire students to also ask question about what the people around them are doing. The little boy goes around asking what people are doing and in the end he realizes that in everything there is always reading. The importance of reading is stressed in this book. The book could be good for any age in elementary as a read aloud or just a book for students to read. Chepito runs into people all over the neighborhood reading and asks them why they are reading. When he goes to school, he sees a bookshelf full of books and decides to read one because he discovered that reading is fun. This would be a great book to use to discuss the importance of reading and why it is important to know how to read. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Before he leaves on his first day of school, Chepito plays outside and encounters many different people in his neighborhood who are all reading, and each person has a different response when Chepito asks them "Why?" Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
